Good Morning LL! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Thank you Elsa! There was one happy little kitteh when I got home last night. Tess wouldn't leave my lap! :-D :-D :-D And she almost got down to the Lagoon!

Success! I found Dave's at a shop in LA (the first 2 on the website's list of stores didn't have it, call first!). The bad part was that it meant I was on 101 at 5:00! One of many of LA's mobile parking lots! ohmygod_smile So we will see how she likes it. then I can order a case and have her decide she doesn't like it after all!

Hi Ann,
Glad you got home on the 101 parking lot. (In NY the Long Island Expressway is referred to as the world's longest parking lot :lol: ). I'm sure Tess was thrilled to see you. Hope she'll like Dave's. Rusty likes the 95% chicken and chicken liver a lot. I didn't think he liked the 95% turkey and turkey liver the first time we tried it, but he ate it readily the other day.

:YMSIGH: Nope, not headed down. But we aren't surprised considering the +4.

Kind of disappointed on the Dave's. I finally sat down and ran the "as fed" numbers from their website through my calculation SS. While the carbs are mostly good, the phosphorus is way high in the Turkey and higher than I would like in most of the rest. AND one of the only really good ones is the chicken, which is back ordered at the plant! Salmon is good, but it's fish! Unfortunately one I didn't get was the Pork Restricted Diet which is great for both carbs and phos. Tess love pork baby food too. There are other flavor combos I haven't run, I'll try to do them soon.

Interesting about the Dave's numbers. I wonder why the turkey is so high in phos? Maybe because it is high in protein? Has Tess tried any of the foods yet? I hope the chicken will be available again soon. Whiskas Holistic in NYC had a lot of it last month. They ship anywhere, but I don't think it would be cheap to ship to CA.

Ann, Thank you for your visit today to Monet's condo and thanks so much for your words of encouragement about Picasso ...I sure did need them!
I will definitely check out Tess's SS in regards to the food ...I will take any advice/help I can get.

Let me know too how Tess likes Daves... I was thinking about tring that too.n well at least the ones low Phos & Carbs.

Glad Tess liked the Weruva Truluxe On The Cat Wok ...both Monet and Picasso do too.

Thanks for sharing the info about Dave's. The thing that really frustrates me is that they don't have the "as fed" numbers for all their flavors - just some. For instance, on the Gobbleicious Gourmet, I get 13.6% carb using the numbers on the website (guaranteed analysis) and the Cab calculator app on my smartphone. When I use the carb calculator at FNAE.org, I get 3% carbs. The phosphorus is .40% . Is that good or bad? I don't know what to believe. I do know that my kitties like it, though. :roll:

This is looking better, makes me wonder if I gave a furshot this morning. :YMSIGH:

The way I figure out the mg Phos/100 kcal is % phosphorus x grams per can, divide the result by calories per can, multiply the result by 1000. (I checked that formula w/ foods on DR. Lisa's list and got the same results.)

So for the 95% Turkey it was: .49 x 156 = 76.44 ÷ 169 = 0.4523 x 1000 = 452.31 mg Phos/100kcal.
For the Gobbleicious Gourmet: .40 x 156 =62.4 ÷ 202 = 0.3089 x 1000 = 308.91 mg Phos/100kcal.

Dr. Lisa recommends keeping Phos below 250 mg/100 kcal, I try to keep it closer to 200. so the Gobbleicious Gourmet is high, but not as bad as the 95% Turkey.

Hmmmmm.... maybe on that fur shot? Sure is nice to see her come right back down.

Kudos to you for all the time spent figuring out those formulas, getting the results. You've helped me more times than I can count. It was such a challenge with Mannie towads the end. I hope the new foods will work out Ok for Tess. I wonder on the phosphorus though. Wishing you luck!
