I could not help but think of Mannie yesterday. It was 6 months ago yesterday that he crossed to the Bridge. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him. I still feel that Bug reminds me of him in so many ways. It's been a while since I've had a sign for him, though I do know all with well with him. Bug came into sit with me for a few yesterday. I knew it was Bug, but when I looked at him I saw Mannie, his face, shape and form, with those goofy squinty eyes he used to do, Maybe it was a sign, maybe it was just becasue I was thinking about him. Yesterday Linda of Linda and Bear Man posted a photo on FB of Bear Man and Teddy together, as it was one year since Teddy had crossed, three years since Bear Man. It is uncanny how much Mannie looked like Bear Man - they could have been twins. Perhaps they were, some kindred spirit. The timing of the photo post was uncanny too. well... here's to you Mannie! My Nanner King, president and CEO of the CPC, Chef extraordinaire, BMG founder, fellow companion for the KTSS, FDMB Olympic Diving Champion. Enjoy life at the bridge, take good care of the new arrivals... In my heart forever little one. We all miss you.

I hope everyone had a great Furday. Mine was so busy and so crazy, but we all had a great time. It was the last of my weeks where I have the boys for five days during the week. It will seem odd to be back to the three days. We all had a GREAT TIME before heading on out for our adventures. :-D :-D  We stayed local today, in an effort to have a more mellow day out with the boys. oh sure, and HAHA! Once Nicholas gets going and into wherever he is the is no mellow. ENERGIZED on all levels. Why do I think William will be the same.... ;-) Here is what I wrote about yesterday in last night's post: "Hi everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. It was the last of my five days a week stint with the boys. Today we headed on out to two local parks: one a river park, the other a beach park. The day was a busy one for us, but wow, what fun. The weather was another gorgeous fall day here: sun after a very dense foggy morning, and maybe 50 tops. We did the Sammamish River at Bothell in the morning, somewhat in the fog, with not much sun there until we left about noon to head on over to the beach at Juanita Beach Park. Bothell was really great - from the kids stuff to river wading, all of it. He was out in the river trying to catch ducks. It is interesting though that he knows without my telling him how far he can safely go. Kid came out of that one a tad bit wet. Just good ole boy fun. I do not know of many kids that would want to be out in the river, in all that wet and fog and upper 40's and not be cold. He was having such a blast. We ate lunch on a park bench, William liked that too, and then headed to the car to warm up, plan adventure #2 to the beach. Juanita Beach was nice - lots of sun there. Little guy had a blast, tons of sand rolling, and digging himself in, and the inevitable ducks. Here he is on his belly, digging in the sand, tuning to the water, tossing this and that, over and over again. What fun! I wore them out today. Both crashed when I loaded them in the car at 4 to meet with their dad. Bet they sleep well tonight. " Picassa links: Sammamish River @ Bothell's Landing and Juanita Beach Park

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!!   It is oddly quiet here this morning.... too quiet.... the calm before the storm? It seems this is the norm every Caturday... hmmmm... somehow I remember writing this last Caturday too. The heat has been on in the house the past few days. it is interesting to see who flocks to the heat registers, and who doesn't. Bug has adopted Mannie's other bed that sat right next to one. Elsa still ignores them, sleeps on the bed downstairs. Lola sits and stares at them, lets the heat blow in her face. No surprise there! I can be using the blow dryer on my hair and she will come an see what the noise is. I can blow her fur with it and she just sits there, lets me do it. Tilts her head up some. What a cat!   I learned yesterday that I cannot leave a wrapped loaf of bread out... she had that all over the floor: bag torn, bread scattered.    WOW: now even bread isn't safe. LOLA!   As I type she has just started a kitty marathon run... up and down the halls, wrap speed. The thundering herd has returned....

Have a great day everyone. it is a for sure catch up day here: shopping, errands, laundry and some cleaning. And recovery time. I thoroughly enjoyed having both boys for five days, but need some regroup time.  So that shall be today. That and an afternoon walk, to the shore I hope!

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!! cat_pet_icon

(((Michelle))) I miss Mannie, too. He and Bear Man were definitely kindred twins. I am sure that they hang out together at the Bridge all the time, and that the other kitties can't tell them apart. The only giveaway would be the pile of nanners in front of Mannie! Time goes by so quickly after our beloved kitties have passed, but their memories remain so close to us, as if they have just slipped away to nap in a sunbeam and will be back in time for dinner. Mannie will always be in my heart and in my memories. (((Mannie))).

The Energizer bunny gets it honest - directly from his grandmother!   It wears me out just to read about all of your adventures with the boys. :-D I miss Mannie, too. He was one cool dude.

Re: 10/19 LOOSE LIPS: parks, rivers & beaches.... remembran

There are always the special kitties that leave paw prints on people's hearts -- and not just the hearts of their beans. I miss Mannie and Bear Man, as well.

I've come to the conclusion that some kitties think that halls are made for them to thunder down. I suspect that Gizmo and Lola believe that to be the case.

Re: 10/19 LOOSE LIPS: parks, rivers & beaches.... remembran

Morning Linda ~O) ~O) ~O) How wonderful to hear from you. I think they were too: kindred spirits. I am so sure on the bridge, they were so much alike in so many ways. Can't you see that? Which kitty is this one? Bear Man or Mannie? ah yes... the nanners would give it away. Sometimes I miss that part the most about Mannie - him and all those nanners! so agreed on the power of memories.... I relive Mannie moments all the time. Thanks you for visiting. you, BearMan, Teddy, Emily will always remain so clsoe...

Morning Liz ~O) ~O) ~O) oh yes... I have had to go to energizer bunny school to be able to keep up with the boys.   and yes, it is all so tiring, but wow: none of us ever stop when we are out. We seem to feed on each others energy, and off we go, lovin' it all. THX on Mannie - I miss him too, a for sure on the one cool dude. He was unique.

Morning Sienne ~O) ~O) ~O) Many thanks! I cans till see Bear Man, and Mannie,a sif it were eysterday. -- so agreed too on those halls. Lola literally flies down them, none of it is ever quiet, adnalways seems to be the loudest at 3 AM. She and Gizmo would have alot of fun in those halls.

Well so much for your quiet morning  Thanks for the fall pics :-D It's the only way I will see any fall colors
Mannie sounds like he was such a character. I remember when we first came here about Mannie and his nanners  So cute ♥ Great pic ♥
Get some rest and have a great Caturday Michelle!

Re: 10/19 LOOSE LIPS: parks, rivers & beaches.... remembran

It's hard to believe it has been 6 months. Mannie was such a special kitty. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was reading about him and his nanners. He is always missed.

I'm not surprised Lola found the bread. Could you tell is she ate any of it? One of my cats I had in the past loved to eat bread.

Re: 10/19 LOOSE LIPS: parks, rivers & beaches.... remembran

They do look a lot alike :)
Love the Hearts Ann, and the MANNIE'S written on the nanners
We miss Manny and Bear Man, and Teddy and Miss Emily, and all the rest very much. They are all in our hearts.

Re: 10/19 LOOSE LIPS: parks, rivers & beaches.... remembran

Oh no on Lola discovering bread! Reminds me of when we had to keep all-things-bread in our microwave for storage, thanks to Lucy (GA) who LOVED to chew on the pkgs.

Awwww, sweet Mannie.

MannieForever

Enjoy your day, Michelle!

What a nice condo. Yes, we all remember Mannie. Sure is nice to have this update regarding signs. I'm sure he is present through Bug. So many oldtimers have GA but, they are all together and waiting for all of us.

Great videos and pictures of the boys. You sure had your hand full. William is following in Nicholas' footsteps. Amazing he takes in so much at his age. Go Grammie. You are a wonderwoman. Have a wonderful day and recup from the week's activities.

Thanks for all the great posts and updates on the new furbabies you have. They make our lives special.

Re: 10/19 LOOSE LIPS: parks, rivers & beaches.... remembran

Morning everyone. Here we go, round two ---> ~O) ~O) ~O)

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) That has got to be one of my favorite Mannie "pics". From Mannie week in NYC, that too was an unreal week. Thank you for that. can you believe that it has been 6 months. wow, it so seems like yesterday.... Somehow I just couldn't leave this place. So much of what made Mannie Mannie resides here. I need to fix his link "remembering Mannie, as the photos have disappeared. guess the link I used had a time limit on it... dang!

Morning Pam ~O) ~O) ~O) I so know on that quiet morning. LOL: it just never seems to happen!  Anytime on the pics. We have been very lucky this year - the colors are prolific and very vibrant. Mannie was quite the guy. Such a mellow dude too: loved his outdoors, loved those nanners! THX on today - will do.

Hi Carla ~O) ~O) ~O) I know: 6 months! It really is hard to believe. The nanners were some of my fav stories. I can still see all those patterns he made out of them, moving them from one bed to another. all of it. Way too funny! And th - I sure do miss him. -- oh yes on the bread... she is a plastic nut, so it probably was a given. She didn't eat any of it, just scattered it.

Hi MJ ~O) ~O) ~O) YES! The sunglasses photo!! That is one of the best. And the named nanners. Way too funny, and all of it so Mannie. THX (!!!) for posting them.

Hi Dyana ~O) ~O) ~O) I think they do too! I remember the first photo I saw of Bear Man, how I couldn't help but think it was a photo of Mannie. Me tooon the photos posted today - all of them keepers, all of them very special for me. I so agree on the GA's - all of them are in our hearts.

Hi Josie ~O) ~O) ~O) oh yes on that darn bread. What a mess!  ;-) I think it si the same for her as it was for your Lucy - Lola loves packages, and finding out what is inside.
Many thanks for this: ♥♥♥MannieForever♥♥♥

Hi Jane ~O) ~O) ~O) oh yes - the smiles are endless when I think of him, which is often. Such great memories. THX too on the pics - ours is a gorgeous fall this year. Have to take photos when that happens. :-D THX too on the boys. They grow up so fast... The five days was a challenge, I am glad in a way that is done for now, but also will miss having their company too! Back to three days next week.

Hui Barbara ~O) ~O) ~O) hey - thx! I will interpret recently things regarding him here to signs. They do communicate with us in mysterious ways... we just have to pay attention. and yes they are - all those GA's waiting for us. THX too on the boys! yes, it was a bust week, rewarding and fun but ever so busy! I think so too on William. It will be so fun when he is more mobile! love the new additions here. so very different, am so grateful that they all like each other!

Re: 10/19 LOOSE LIPS: parks, rivers & beaches.... remembran

Hi Michelle,
It doesn't seem like 6 months: it seems both longer and shorter. Mannie is indeed "here". I think of him all the time and remember all the fun the kitties had when Mannie was directing the activities. I know that the "Two Chefs' Kitchen" at the Bridge is the most popular place where the GAs gather. It is neat that Bug has taken on so many of Mannie's traits and that he has appropriated his beds.

Your day yesterday was certainly full! What fun that beach looked like! Pretty soon William will be mobile and Nicholas will teach him how to enjoy the water.

Have a lovely evening. You'll have to put all your groceries in lock-down to keep Lola out of them!!

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 10/19 LOOSE LIPS: parks, rivers & beaches.... remembran

Good Afternoon everyone! Well let's see.... shopping: done! eradnds: done! bills: done! property taxes: paid! laundry: done! sooooo..... looks like I can go play now. YIPPIE!! I am off to the shore here, on the local trails. Our fog still hasn't lifted today. It is as thick as pea soup out there, and I doubt we will see it leave us today. oh well - a fog hike!

Hi Ella ~O) ~O) ~O) I so agree with that - it seems longer, and also shorter at the same time, Funny how that works. THX for remembering him. I so remember those parties, and all those adventures! This time of year they would have been on the cascade train traveling to the mountains, playing in the new snow.... fun stuff huh. Flash memory: the leaf piles at Willie's! I think so too on the "Two Chef's Kitchen". What a pair those two made! It is nice to see some of Mannie in Bug. Love it! -- yes on yesterday - bust day! The beach is really a nice one, lots to do for the kids. Nicholas really enjoyed it. Funny you should mention the groceries - that is exactly what happened when I got back. Lola did not miss a bag.

Re: 10/19 LOOSE LIPS: parks, rivers & beaches.... remembran

(((Michelle))) . I should have read the top part of your post first. I went straight to the section about Mannie, and dissolved in tears....for you and for me.
I also miss Mannie. He was such a huge part of this community, and the parties, with His Chefness, and also Chef Stu.
Oh man, it was so good then, huh? I miss the menus, and even Checkers' tuna canapes, that he also "brought".
Whenever I see a huge moon, thanks to Ella reminding us, I still think of kitty parties.

When I first came to FDMB, in 2009, I had to ask Pat (Shadow and Raja)...where the party is..the preparations were sooooo real! ohmygod_smile She must have thought I was a moron.

When I'm not feeling so sensitive, I must go back and read the beginning of your thread. :-D

Hugs, sweet lady. :YMHUG:

Re: 10/19 LOOSE LIPS: parks, rivers & beaches.... remembran

Hey Barb! :-D Thank you for everything. I did have to smile at checkers tuna canapes. I so remember those! It is funny that you should mention Pat and Shadow and Raja, and the party. It was the same for me!  I had no clue what all the party business was, but it sure did sound awesome. Gradually the light-bulb went off, and Mannie started to be Mannie, and he made his first batch of chicken soup, when Stu was sick. I loved those parties, the full moons, the OTJ's, and well the Halloween one was my favorite. good times huh. I am so glad that Ella is keeping it going. Thank you for being you. I hope you are doing well. I think of checkers all the time.

I was even more of a "moron" when I first came to LL. I saw everyone talking about visiting each other's condo ("Thanks for visiting our condo"), and I thought that it was a really strange coincidence that everyone lived in the same building.

Re: 10/19 LOOSE LIPS: parks, rivers & beaches.... remembran

I am so glad we were all in the same boat. Linda - love the condo thing! Thanks gawd Chris of Chris and Chloe told me the lingo before I got going.... The parties threw me for a loop though. I kept thinking they all travel that much with their kitties? How did they manage that? I kept thinking no way would Mannie put up with that.  I love you guys!
