Sabrina worries me. She didn't eat her 2nd dinner last night or the night before, and she ate little of her 1st breakfast this morning. I'll lock Jackson in the bedroom in an hour or so, and see if she'll eat some kibble or another type of food. I'll call the vet to see if I can pick up some Mirataz after work today.
She did sleep with me last night and cuddled with me this morning and purred a little. She also scratched briefly at a cardoard scratcher and batted once at a toy. She used to entertain herself all morning playing with her toys.

Is she dehydrated? You can pinch her scruff or the fur on the top of her head — when you let go, it should return to normal within a few seconds. If it stays tented, she might be dehydrated.

Any chance you can check her temperature?

How many ticks did she have on her and were they attached? Did the vet mention what species they were?

Thursday morning after I caught her I took her to the vet. She checked for hydration and said she was not dehydrated but gave her 100ml of fluids with electrolites anyway. She had a lot of big ticks and some tiny ones. She was given a dose of Revolution PLUS to get rid of any that were still there. I plan to call the vet when they open. I may be able to check her temperature later, but I do have to go to work in 10 minutes.

I called the vet's office and spoke to the receptionist who said they were completely booked today. I said I was wondering if I could stop by and pick up some Mirataz after work, but then thought better of if, for right now.
A kitty that was starved or fasted for a length of time (I've heard) should be given smaller meals at first because of something called refeeding syndrome. I don't want her eating a ton of food because of the Mirataz, so I'll hold off at least another day.
This is what I wrote in my spreadsheet:
Sabrina only ate a little of her 1st breakfast. She refused wet and ate kibble at 2nd breakfast. She refused wet and ate some kibble at 3rd breakfast.

I had to take her back to the vet:
Sabrina only ate a little of her 1st breakfast. She refused wet and ate kibble at 2nd breakfast. She refused wet and ate some kibble at 3rd breakfast. Took to vet (as emergency, as my vet only works Monday, Thursday, and Friday) and I couldn't wait until Thursday, as she wouldn't even eat cat treats. Temperature 104.7, I allowed her to give a Convenia shot as I don't know if I can catch her twice a day for an antibiotic. She got a shot of Buprenorphine, and we came home with some Gabapentin and Mirataz. Sabrina refused her 1st dinner of kibbles and wet food. She seesms slightlly more active amd glad to be home. She did not eat her 1st dinner. Sometimes I just want to talk to someone.................

Oh no I’m so sorry to hear that Sabrina isn’t feeling well with a fever :(

Sending lots and lots of healing and eating vines 🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃

Did the ER do any bloodwork on Sabrina?

Hopefully the Convenia and other meds will help.

If you end up taking her back to the vet, it’s important to tell them about her recent escape and that she came home loaded with ticks. They might not be considering tick-borne diseases in a “house cat” but you live on an area where there are many possibilities (Doxycycline is often the go-to drug).

Poor Sabrina! See, you knew she was off, Dyana! Mommies know. Almost 105 is quite a temp. Herms was feeling poorly. I hope the antibiotic will knock out any infection or problem she's experiencing. I wonder why they gave her Gaba? I'm assuming for pain?? It's also given for anxiety. Sending our little runaway all the healing vines 🍃🍃🍃🍃

I think she was going to do blood work originally to find the source of her being off, but after holding her ears she said they were really warm and I asked her to take her temperature. Once the fever was found, we talked about antibiotics and she talked me into letting her have the Convenia. I asked about some pain meds and she suggested some Metacam and my eyes must have gotten big. The two things I have listed on my cat's charts is NO METACAM and NO CONVENIA. She said she would give her some buprenorphine in the office and send me home with some Gabapentin. So, it's for pain, if needed.
