You can always add honey, syrup or karo to the higher end LC to make it MC / HC.Gah, turns out the HC got used for other kitties during the road trip - I have MC (12% - Fancy Feast grilled beef in gravy) and LC (Koha turkey 8%, Wellness Complete Health chicken + turkey 4% each). I will go buy more food this afternoon, but will have to make do with this if needed this morning.
How much do people give to keep their cats in the safe zone? Start with a teaspoon? A tablespoon?
Hahaha thank youCongrats on shooting your first green. Here is your BoS award!

Looks like her birthday gift to you was to wreck your breakfast plan. Typical cat!
How long do you have to go out for breakfast? Can it be delayed?
Yes. You can always feed her some MC at the +1.75 test and come back at +3 for the next. If you have an autofeeder she will eat from you can load it up for +2.5 - again with some MC, if necessary., but I’m waiting and will test her a little bit before +2. The number will tell me if we can go out or need to get takeout instead. We would only be gone for about an hour, so if her +2 isn’t diving can I come back and test at +3?
I just gave her two teaspoons of 12% and ran out the door with a very hangry boyfriend - what a tense morning!Still within meter variance of your PS#, so she’s staying pretty flat. Personally I’d be comfortable with what you have planned (MC snack and test again in an hour).
Thank youWell done shooting green today! How does Chewie like these numbers? Notice anything different about her? Other than not as ravenously hungry.
it was a bit unnerving, glad she stayed flat as it was a high chaos day with all the furniture being brought in!It depends on the cat. I discovered that Neko reacted badly to wheat. A lot of the HC products have wheat or wheat gluten in them. However, there are some that are high carb from potatoes (Weruva) and she was fine with those. Adding karo or honey is always an option. Is adding honey to their regular LC easier on cats’ digestion?
