Shadow did not have a blue start so the trial begins. DAY ONE !
I actually got all teary last night drawing up that shot. Such a milestone. ( guess I will cry at my kids weddings)

You guys are all going to flog me with wet noodles. I woke up worrying about finding someone to feed her twice a day or more
during the week of Christmas. ( certainly easier than finding someone to test and shoot)
Nearly everyone goes off the hill (local reference for our town at 7500 ft above sea level) at Christmas so it's never easy to find someone.
So far, many of them either skip a trip or don't even re-fill the water bowl.
It's hard to find someone you can trust to do as you ask. And I don't even ask for litter box cleanings.

We are relaxed but nervous too.
Hope this works out.

Last night Shadow came over to jump up on her tower and tried to grab the top carpet rung and she fell backwards like a big clutz.
She looked confused as to why that happened and I comforted her. No kitty pride of "that didn't really happen".
It dawned on me later it was because of her nails getting clipped. She has nothing to grab on with. They were cut pretty high up
so it will take her a while to get them sharp again.
can't be easy to have no fangs or claws either. Good thing mamabean dictates that she is the alpha of the pets.

I have such a big smile when you talked about getting teary at the last shot - what a big milestone and of COURSE I would be teary too!

BIG PAWS CROSSED for a successful trial and congrats on the green!

And this is this first time you get to put AMBG and not AMPS!!!

Congratulations on starting the OTJ trial! I'm sure Shadow will fly through it with flying colors!! Well, various shades of greens, anyway... :mrgreen:

Very lovely #s for Shadow! I should send Blackie over there so that Shadow can teach her how to get those PS #s, too. :lol:

I know all too well how you feel about having someone come over and take care of the animals. There's only 1 person that I trust 100% to take care of Blackie, and the rest, and she's a phlebotomist, who is obviously very well versed in injections. I wouldn't even suggest asking my SIL to take care of her as I'm sure she'd do a very poor job, and I don't trust my SIL with any of my animals, either. Not to mention, I think Blackie wouldn't allow her near her. She's not one to walk up to just anyone. I hope that you can find someone that you can trust.

Well, I`m not surprised you got teary :YMHUG: this big, so amazing, and I got a little teary for you even :razz: Who doesn`t cry at a graduation? All that hard work, nights burning the midnight oil, frustrating steep learning curves in classes you never thought you would have to take.

2 More weeks until the Diplomas are handed out. Have you and Shadow ordered your matching caps and gowns yet? :mrgreen:

Thank you so much for answering my question about the Lantus, I stopped worrying as soon as I read it. And for telling me about the blood draw on the hind leg. Is this better than the foreleg? Bigger vein maybe... I`ll research it a little and then talk to the vet about it.

And now I have another question: We are at 0.25u, what is the next reduction? I think I have to learn how to count drops now?

Oh Happy Day. This is so exciting for Shadow (and probably more for mamabean - seriously we need this trial to wean us off testing!!! yikes. I still want to do it more than we are...I know I know).

Happy for you--I dont trust anyone with Moonie except DH, so I think you need to call all vet offices in the area & see if any will pet sit for you..Plan ahead or maybe take Shadow??

Asking the bet techs is a great idea, they know how important food is to a diabetic. Good idea to start planning ahead too. No chance of taking her with you?

Rhiannon congratulations to you and Shadow!!! :-D I'm sure Shadow will complete his trial run without a hitch. PurrFace &I are rooting for him. You did a great job. It's results like your's & Shadow's that inspire those of us still on the road to OJT.

Hi Rhiannon - sorry for the late post... DGS days are always so busy and so hard to find any time to visit anyone. And by the time I find the time I'm in major sleep mode.... I hope your day has been a good one!
