Good Morning, Everyone,
Well, yesterday was a bg-disaster day for Rusty: AMPS was compromised when Rusty jerked and bent the needle! Judging from PMPS, it must have been a fur, or partial fur, shot (Edward smelled Lev.). Nighttime number was PINK! I was out all day, climbing a mountain, but Edward said that Rusty had a typical day with good appetite, outdoor time, good naps, etc.
This morning we had a good shot (yay! no Lev. smell). We have passed the 72-hours-for-a-bounce period (bounce was on 15 Oct.), so once Rusty's shed gets refilled from the fur shots (there have been more than one), we'll be able to judge where he is. I surely don't like his recent trend with regard to his bg numbers and I will be taking him to the vet soon for the usual series of tests. We'll see what happens today.
My climb of Hurricane Mt. yesterday was difficult, but rewarded by spectacular views of the Adirondack High Peaks in one direction and Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains of Vermont (pics attached). We slogged through mud the entire way on a very rocky trail (more like a stream bed than a trail), had to hop from rock to rock across 5 streams (in both directions; 10 stream crossings in all), and encountered ice and snow near the summit. But we all made it. The descent was much more difficult than the ascent because of the slippery rocks. I was tired last night, so didn't post Rusty's condo until bedtime.
Wishing everyone a good Fursday,
Ella & Rusty
