Clyde is starting out today with a AMPS at 161. I delayed about 15 minutes this morning because his first test was 101. This marks the start of his 4 cycle in a row where he is in the blue. It's a small milestone for him, but I hope it's an indication that his diabetes is starting to get under control.

He's decided that although he will let me prick his ears to get the blood drop, he wants to see what I'm doing and moves his head around when I'm trying to get the sample in the glucometer.

Congratulations on the blue!! Improvement is good :-D

These silly kitties, always want to see what is happening!

Have a great Friday!

Since you delayed a bit, it looks like that he rose a bit more on his own. Eventually you'll start feeling more comfortable with shooting lower #s than this. He's looking good, though. This # is definitely lower than yesterday's #, even if it's by a few points. Good work!

100 is still perfectly okay to shoot, no need to delay on that one- still high enough. Since your kitty looks to be newly diagnosed, I'll ask if you feed him any dry food at all?

He has not had any dry food since the day he was diagnosed, which was about a month/month and a half ago at this point. The two of them split a 13.2oz can of EVO a day and right now are loving every minute of getting the wet food. They used to only get it as a special treat.

The only dry thing Clyde gets is 1 cat treat per BG test. He gets a single EVO Wild Cravings Turkey & Chicken Formula Cat Treats. It appears to be a low carb cat treat.

Okay good. The only reason I ask is because I fed mine a dry and wet mix (although it was all diabetic food, and more wet than dry), but when I one and a half months later finally cut the dry out completely, his BG started dropping drastically and he went off the juice a week after that. Even a bit of dry can make a big difference. I didn't believe it until I saw it!
