WCR: not sure if this blue amps is a result from moving her food back an hour earlier but we'll take it either way! We also started a new lantus cartridge today in hopes of the other one just pooping out and giving us those pink numbers. We will see how she does in the next few days before raising up her dose.

OT, our civvie twix has never ever ever ever taken a pill before. Well, she took one once as a kitten but foamed the entire pill back up and the vet said, she's young, she's ok! But the vet yesterday gave us some free samples of the pill pockets which we put a clavamox pill into. The first time she picked it up she dropped it and picked it up again. We heard a crunch (it was in her food bowl) and we thought she ate it all and we were so happy. Then we noticed her digging into her food and there it was. That little white pill. The buggar ate around it! But we got another pill pocket and picked up the pill and and tried it again. She finally ate it!! WITH THE PILL!!!! I couldn't believe my eyes when it didn't come back up ... this morning is a different story where she wants nothing to do with the pill pocket and has walked away from it several times but we will keep trying. I just can't believe she really took a pill!

This is a much better place to start than the last couple of days. I was also glad to hear that Twix's vet visit found that everything was allergy related. (And plenty of cats here have taken Clavamox without any problems.)

Very nice Mocha! what a great start - I hope she can continue, maybe find some greens today.

Go Twix! It is so nice when things like his go well. Glad too that all went OK at the vet, and that it is just allergies.

Nice AMPS Mocha!!! I have always used the liquid Clavamox...but it does take a bit of doing to get that in too....good luck with that. I have used a bit of cheese with a pill inside....just put it right in to the back of their mouths...always such a problem, isn't it? Hope you all have a good day!

Twix is a smarty pants, eating around the pill pocket :lol: How frustrating for you though, hope you manage somehow

Blue Mocha Sunday! That actually sounds yummy. We could name an early morning coffee after her. :lol:

You might try a pill shooter, they are only a couple of bucks and you can probably get one from your vet. It gets the pill back in their throat so they can't spit it out easily. it also saves the fingers from the danger zone. Nice amps today for Mocha. I hope that new pen does the trick. I'm glad you got a pill into Twix. Blackie is so easy to pill, I forget that other kitties are not. I just open his mouth, toss the pill into the back of his mouth and down it goes. But I used to have a kitty that would foam at the mouth when pilled. It was torture every time. I hope you can keep getting those pill into Twix.

Unfortunately mocha has only gone up since this morning so tomorrow she will go up to 1.5. These yellows and pinks are getting ridiculous. However twix made up for it by eating her second pill pocket treat this morning after I posted. She walked past it a few times but then I put it on her "baby" and she nudged it off with her nose and then got the scent of it on her nose and went right after it, gobbling it all up. I could hear "eye of the tiger" music in the background .. what a victory!!

Mocha, you're going the wrong way sweetie! Turn around, or more juice!

Awesome for Twix taking her pill! Muffin is difficult to pill, even after 3 weeks of doing it every day. As far as the Clavimox goes, I usually use the liquid also, and the only problem I've ever had with it is that sometimes, with some of the cats, it makes them vomit, usually on day 5. If that happens, I've given them a day off and then resumed it, but if it happens with Twix I would ask the vet.
 
bah .. another yellow pmps number for mocha ... tomorrow won't come soon enough! I can't wait to get her up on her dose so we can hopefully see some action again ... Anne thanks for the heads up on the throw up part. Twix has only had two pills, one last night, one this morning but is supposed to take two a day for 7 days. Im going to go as long as I can with it, but if she throws up I will call the vet. Thanks again!

Glad Twix is just dealing w/allergies. Yeah, pilling kitties is just no fun. Open wide...Twix...I will make you feel lots better sweetie.
