Yesterday at Tricia's House of Chaos

The patience pants are getting a workout. I'm not really seeing much improvement on this dose. :( Cinco hasn't needed more than 1.0 since May. Could it be we need to be increasing in the next few days??? :arghh: He was doing so well before radiation, and now it's all messed up. I'm very bummed. He, of course, couldn't care less, as long as he gets his fuds and his Zoom Groom sessions.

But the big news around here is that BOTH GIRLS WERE CPC this morning!!!!:woot:

Sasha's had seconds and Minka just ate about 1/3 of a jar of baby food with her fluids. Harvey's hoover isn't quite up to full song, but it is humming along on medium, so I'll take that. Those L&L Land vines are powerful. Thanks and please keep them coming!!

It's cool, breezy and overcast and we even had a few sprinkles. Coincidence??? Hmmmm. o_O

I have a question for those of you that give subqs: Do your kitties ever leak afterward? The vet told me a little leakage was normal, but lately it seems like Minka is awfully wet afterwards, and I check constantly during the administration so be sure there is no leakage then. I'm worried that she's losing a good portion of the fluids that way, and I can't figure out why. The only thing I've come up with is that she's put on weight and it's harder to get a good tent of skin, so maybe I'm not actually getting the needle in deep enough? Thoughts?

I have half a dozen tasks I haven't been able to get to all week, and I want to get started now and see how many I can knock off, now that everyone is fed, medicated and hydrated. We are not going out tonight, so no stress about getting us and the cats ready. Nice. I'll try to visit later.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Sienne & Gabby, Deborah & Shasta, Carla & her civvie Baby, Wendy & civvie Theo, and Marje & Gracie. :bighug: Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF and DH, Marje's DM, Chris' DM, Molly's DM, and Elise's DM.

Come on Cinco - you can do better than that! How about a trip to the lagoon for old times sake? I wonder if radiation caused inflammation, it so, he should come down from it over time. I know SRT can cause some inflammation/swelling.

Fantastic news on not having to chase the girls around with a plate. :joyful::joyful::joyful:

Aha, Wendy may be on to something with the possible swelling. We were warned about it after Polly's SRT, too.

And those girls deserve some extra special scritches today. CPC! Weather? Well then I'll send some cooling vines your way.

Yes on the fluid leaking. Polly does. A girl I fluid for a friend does. I just use a tissue or towel and apply very light pressure on the needle-insertion site for 30 seconds or so to sort of blot the spot, like I'd do with a small cut on me. As I always say to the leakers, "We worked to hard to get this in you, we don't want it all dripping out!"

Have a super unencumbered day!

Marilyn and Polly

Yay for CPC for the girls! :) I know it's frustrating seeing higher numbers. Hopefully Cinco will get back on track soon. He may need a little more juice to kickstart him. It took Furball about a month to get back on track after I gave her the Tresaderm for her ear infection. I'm glad Cinco doesn't seem to be bothered by the higher numbers.

At least Cinco is still feeling good. That's all that really matters in the end :) Glad everyone's appys seem to be on the up and up today. Hope you get more of that in days to come. Enjoy your evening!

I'd be thinking about increasing in the morning if you have no joy tonight, the sooner you can shove him back into the lagoon the better. I suspect he'll want to come down again soon enough but at any rate - size doesn't matter it's what he does with it that counts ;)

Yay for all those happy appys!!!

I am no authority on Subcut fluids...but Sheba has had them several times at the vet when she gets pancreatitis. I find she leaks more if they don't swap the spot and put it all in one place. There was always less leaking when they used 2 places.

Hi, Tricia! Yay for CPC this morning! Go Sasha and Minka!! :) I hope Cinco gets back on track soon -- glad he's feeling good.
I remember Ripley leaking a little fluid from time to time post-squids. There was no pattern, but it was noticeable. (Especially that time I stuck the needle all the way through her skin and out the other side .)
I hope you're able to relax some tonight. :bighug:

Thanks for stopping by, Wendy, Marilyn, Carla, Rhiannon, Gabrielle, Serryn, Bron and Josie.

The miracles continue: both girls ate all of their dinner!

The boys, too. Don't wake me up, please. I'm liking this dream.

Mark and I think that Minka is losing her hearing - you can make a noise right next to her and her ears don't move. She's very easy to sneak up on and startle. She can hear a little - seems to be very loud noises and high pitched sounds. Guess it's all part of getting old. :(

She's leaked before, but a very small amount. This seems like an awful lot. I'll try the pressure idea.

Anyone else agree about increasing in the morning? Tonight will be the sixth cycle on this dose, and no green.

WOOT!!! CPC Twice in one day! Way to go girls! I don't know about radiation, but it seems reasonable that numbers would go up after all that. No harm in upping the dose meanwhile either.

I've never really notice leaking w/ Tess, but i always massage the spot afterwards. She does like to groom the spot afterwards and can get herself pretty wet though.
