Basic ate good this morning. I feel I jumped the gun yesterday morning, giving him his anti nausea and app stim. You can never be too careful after events like this though.

His feeding tube was removed without issue.

His faulty libre was removed and a piece of his skin came along with it. While it is just a tiny spot, I probably won't have another libre put on unless I can do it. I was sent a link from the FB group regarding applying and removing the libre and neither were done the way this instruction sheet suggest.

Adding link for future searches. I recommend reading this before your cat has a libre placed. There are things you can do to help this be as effective and painless with applying and removing that are listed here.

He is maintaining his weight too.

His vet seems more receptive to all of the info I'm giving her now.

She wrote a prescription for the syringes with the half unit marks.

Thank you to everyone that has helped me do far. I appreciate all the knowledge, time, and energy.

He had been hanging just under 300, but I say his vet appt sent him over.

Hi Sybil Basic must feel so good having the tube taken out, sorry to hear about the tiny piece of skin coming off. Good to hear he ate good this morning. Glad you got the script for the half unit syringes , most likely he was stressed at the vet appt.
Have a good day Sybil :bighug::bighug::cat:

Good evening, Diane.
He has had a really good day today, after the vet appt. He truly hates it and it shows in his BG always.

Heads up for future knowledge, when I went to Walmart, the pharmacist told me she didn't need the prescription for those. That is good to know for an individual that doesn't have one, but needs those.

Also, I've decided against the low carb kibble (evwn though i already ordered it). I'm going to try and cut kibble out completely. I couldn't sleep last night and I was reading information on it. I'd rather slowly cut it out of his diet completely, instead of introducing a new low carb option. I'm just slowly reducing the amount in the 1/4 c serving he gets and replacing it with a small amount of wet low carb. I think he will be healthier and it will improve his BG.

I'm also going to try some of the frozen FF throughout the day when I'm not here. I think spreading his meals out like I am will also help stabilize his BG.

Hope your day was good. Enjoy your evening.
