Good afternoon!
My old laptop is failing, and I have 1000s of pictures I need to put on a separate hard drive today. I'm bad about backing up on a regular basis. Plus, I keep having problems staying logged on. Other than that, all is great!
Fluid therapy went marvelously yesterday. I warmed the water and used an infrared thermometer to check temp. I also found some 22 gauge needles (vet gave me 18 gauge, and I used those twice. Made me cringe, and she flinched once). I even got an IV stand. (I'll be doing this on my own frequently, and need all the right tools to help and give me confidence). The 22 gauge process took maybe 15 minutes, but we caught Tina relaxing on her ortho bed after her dinner. The needle went in effortlessly, she didn't flinch as she did with the 18 gauge. It was peaceful, and she just enjoyed the petting. She stayed in that spot for an hour afterward, then got up and stretched, and said thanks
I thought the 22 gauge might take more time than Tina would allow, but that wasn't the case
I feel a hundred times better with the smaller needle.
Oh - Tina went outside yesterday through the window, by herself!!! She had been going back in, after I'd take her out, but hadn't yet gone out on her own. I am still working on extra safety features for her. It's a gorgeous day - 60s or so, and that's what I will casually work on today, with no helpful husband getting in the way.
All good thoughts and appreciation to you all, and love to all of our dear cats.
