Don't know if y'all want daily updates or not, but here's one anyway: Sunshine is still at the 24/7 vet, because her ketones haven't come down, her white and red blood cell counts remain abnormal, and she still isn't eating well - though she is eating! The vet may know more later today, if Sunny's urine culture comes back. She also has high kidney values, which may indicate a kidney infection. Please keep her in your thoughts!

Folks who are on FB are welcome to friend me there, in case that's a less obtrusive way of providing updates on my sweet girl. Also, photos! (And, of course, all the random stuff I post on FB.) https://www.facebook.com/allyrakat

Of Course We Want Daily Updates!!! We all are worrying over our sweet Sunny girl. I'm just glad she is at a 24 hour vet where she can get the medical attention she needs. We knew something was off with her, now we know what. It just wasn't making sense that she got such stellar numbers at Jenna's house and then came home and went wonky, but an infection explains a lot of it, not all of it but at least part of it.

Okay! :)

I do still think stress when she first came back accounts for part of the numbers, but not after she and Lucky seemed to sort out their differences. But that could be after the infection started, since we do know she had a UTI.

OF COURSE we want updates. as many as you want to post!!!! when Tibbsey had dka he was in the hospital for 5 days on IV. but he is fine now so i hope sunny is home soon.

I'm so glad Tibbsey got better!! I was hoping she wouldn't be in so long, since we seemed to catch it pretty early on, but that mystery infection is really being nasty.

It seems that the vet may be feeding her kibble (Science Diet - ugh!). I don't know what Venita will think, but we may need to consider letting her have dry and just shoot around it. If she's refusing to eat as much wet as she needs, it seems to me that some kibble might be necessary. Not what I want to do, of course! I will say that the Young Again Zero Carb seems to be working to transition Lucky to wet. He's eating WAY more wet now than he was a month ago, and some feeding-times, he doesn't really want any dry at all! So it could be a possibility to let Sunny have some of it, as well.

and with the ketones, it's better she eats anything at all just so she eats something

Hoping sunshine is continuing to improve and will be home soon. Keeping her in my thoughts.

Sarah
