10/16 Rocket and Comet update

Claudia took Rocket to the ER today because he had a steadily increasing temp throughout the day. He was given AB's and as of right now, his temp has gone down slightly. He is home with Claudia and she is having to syringe feed him. He is still giving her a little attitude (I heard him meowing quite loudly on the phone!), but she fears that things don't look too well. In addition, Claudia's dog Comet is still scheduled for his major surgery tomorrow so things are really stressful and emotional right now for Claudia and Darren.

Please pray for Claudia, Darren, Rocket, and Comet. As we all know, LL prayers really do make a difference.

Things have been challenging and I'm monitoring him closely

His fever has come down. But I can tell he is tired. He ate out of the syringe willingly on his own not too long ago. He is resting near the dining room. I tried earlier to cuddle with him and take him to the spare room but he wanted none of it. He wants to be out.

What bothered me the most at the ER is the vet zooming into his diabetes...she wanted to do a fructosamine test and asked when the last time I did a curve or if his vet had done one. To which I said to her that at this point in the game the fructosamine test was the least of the concerns. Needless to say I was not impressed w her or the tech .

Taking one hour at a time.

Tomorrow Comet has his surgery. I am taking the day off as well. Not sure you guys know but I'm on contract work so if I don't work I don't make $. Today was a write off and so will be tomorrow. I just hope the bosses understand which I know unless they're pet lovers like us here on the board, they may not understand

Prayers for us here are always welcomed and much much appreciated

I just got off the phone with Claudia and things aren't looking that well with Comet. Comet had surgery today and they did an aspiration of his liver to see if it is cancerous. They punctured part of the mass and Comet started bleeding. They were able to stop it but he may start bleeding again. He is overnight at the hospital and Claudia is going to go visit late tonight to check on him. Comet also had the issue with the mass in his anal glands and unfortunately, the vet had to go in further than they thought and he will probably have incontinence issues due to the surgery (please forgive me Claudia if I didn't get all the medical information exactly right).

Claudia is continuing to syringe feed Rocket but he is acting a little different, hanging out in the living room instead of the bedroom. He lost part of a tooth today so that may be why he has had the fever due to a tooth infection. He is on AB's so hopefully, that will continue to keep his fever and infection down.

Please, please pray for Comet, Rocket and Claudia. They need all LL's prayers tonight.

Poor Claudia! Having both babies so sick at the same time! I'm sending healing, loving & strength vines to Rocket & Comet as hard as I can and strength, peace, & hugs to you Claudia.

Wishing so hard that everything goes right with them.

10/17 report (AM)

Claudia had a long night and has to go to work today. Rocket is refusing food and is being syringe fed. BG was over 300. He is alert but not sociable. Using the litterbox but there was traces of blood in the poo (not mixed in but outside).

Claudia is waiting to hear back from the hospital about Comet after they assess him. Apparently, he was not eating much and they are continuing to give him pain meds.

Not a great report for either Rocket or Comet, so we need to keep those prayers coming!
 
More and more prayers for Rocket, Claudia, Comet and Darren. (((((hugs to all of you))) and calming healing vines as well.
 
Assessing Rocket's QOL and see how things go until Saturday. Darren says he sees him alert, cranky, slow moving, using lb fine and to give it a little more time and see if he will rebound from this latest fever episode. I am not so sure he will though he gives me a bit of attitude still I have noticed changes.

I'm at work so will be short cause or else i will fall apart

Comet is coming home today. We won't have the pathology results for a bit yet. He has managed to eat a little bit but vet feels he will do much better at home. Darren is going to get him this afternoon while i'm still at work. Not sure i can take tomorrow off as i'm swamped with work and as you can imagine....the bosses are not so overly understanding.....they say they do but i know they can't relate

i have an apt with Rocket's vet tomorrow....not going to take him...i'm going by myself to have THE TALK with her and see what things if any i may be missing to really assess his QOL and where we are at....

ok this is where i stop before i start crying...

i'm a complete mess....this is so incredibly hard...

((((Claudia)))) I'm so sorry you are going through so much. I'm really glad that Comet is coming home and I'm sure he'll do better at home. Give the abs time to work. Rocket has bounced back so many times, its hard to imagine that he won't this time too. Many prayers coming your way.

Claudia--My Heart goes out to you today & cant imagine how you are feeling with your two babies ill..
Rocket and Comet are such brave little souls, who were lucky enough to have gotten a Mom & Dad Bean like you two--Sending the Very STRONGEST Healing Prayers for both your sweet babies so you can have more time with both of them--Comforting HUgs & Love from us!!
