Giving Rex a little bit of HC food to slow him down.

Yikes! He's started this diving which will cause him to bounce a little harder.

I think if you get a +2 that is that much lower than the PS, I'd start feeding a little higher carb food to slow him down.

You did a good job slowing him down after +2.5 :-D
