Interesting... looks like he's heading into another dip just a couple of days after his last one. That'd be cool. Even the little dip into the yellows he's had so far today will help with the ketones.
Thinking ahead a little. This evening is the 10th cycle of this Lantus dose, so he's scheduled to get a Lantus increase tomorrow morning, to 7.5 U. So he wouldn't get R then. And tomorrow evening I'll be out of the house (school play), which means (a) I have to shift his shot about 45 min early and (b) I won't be around to monitor for a few hours. Moving the shot is no big deal- I'll shift by 15 min tonight and tomorrow morning. Monitoring might be more of a big deal depending on what his numbers have been like. I'll almost certainly have to skip R to be safe.
Here's my current thinking: bump the Lantus up tonight instead of tomorrow morning; skip R tonight (might have to anyways if this dip persists). Then I'm clear to give R tomorrow morning (assuming he's over 300 and not diving) and then I'll skip it in the evening when I'm out. I think I'd prefer that to skipping two R doses in a row. Of course this all depends on his numbers, as well.
Alternatively, if he's really dipping again, maybe I should hold the Lantus dose steady for a few more cycles to see what's happening? This would be 3 dips each about 3 days apart, a new pattern for him.
