Good Morning LL! I'm a little late posting this morning, but ambg was taken before the girls were up and around. And it's a lovely 88! Purrrrfect! Today is bomb the house for fleas day @-) Not looking forward to it. Still haven't really figured out where we're going to go, or what we're going to do, but it's a nice day, so we could actually just sit in the backyard if I can't come up with anything better. Not much I can think of that both the drooler AND Muffin will want to do :lol: And we have to move Lola (turtle) and her tank outside - DS is nailbite_smile about that. Gotta get all the pet fuds dishes in the dishwasher first, too, where they'll be safe from any spray. Then come home and start washing sheets and cleaning floors.

Hope you all have a better day planned than I do! :lol:

Yay for nice AMPS! What a day you have planned - I hope the weather stays good so you don't have to deal with any craziness with the four-leggers. Happy fogging (by that sounds really wrong, doesn't it?) :-D

Ugh! Flea bombs! I've been looking into Diatomaceous Earth as an alternative. Last month we were taking care of the neighbor's outdoor pets and think we brought some visitors home!

With regards to fleas, I use the Raid Flea spray, at least once a year, if not twice. My outdoor cat doesn't come inside, and the indoor ones don't go outside. I have a neighbor that has indoor cats and dogs, and I'm always covering myself with Deep Woods Off because I don't want to bring anything home. I hate fleas, too. We all do.

Holy carp!! I wasn't sure about the 212, so retested and got 267! During the fogging, we just hung out in the back yard. I put Muffin in the carrier to get her out there, and she was kinda freaking out. So I let her out and she was frantically trying to get in the house, scratching at the sliding door, running around to the garage door, and back again. I tried sitting on the ground with her by the door, but it didn't calm her down much. Next thing I know, she's squeezing herself thru one of the vent thingies into the crawl space under the house! :o :shock: We couldn't do anything to get her out without going inside. She stayed in there about an hour and then came out and ate some grass. DS went over to block the vent, but she was faster than him and dove back in there. It took me about a half hour AFTER the house was ready to get her out of there. So I'm sure this is stress-related, but should I shoot a drop just to bring her down? Or just let her do it herself? I'm leaning toward waiting it out, but I don't like leaving her in renal threshold territory. Opinions?

Well, drat! I'm sorry to see those numbers. Paws crossed that its just stress and she comes down.

Probably stress...... Muffin has been doing great so far. Wait it out.
Have you ever tried "capstar" a flea pill? www.capstar.com Kills fleas in 24 hrs. I've seen a few people here use it successfully before.

Thanks Liz. I think what I'm going to do is wait and let the girls go to bed, let her eat a decent dinner (right now the other kitties keep coming up and eating hers ohmygod_smile ) and test her again in a few hours. If she's still high, I'll probably shoot a tiny drop just to get her out of these numbers. She's probably been high most of the day. I wish I'd tested her when the ordeal was first over. She is out and about now, tho, not hiding, so hopefully she'll come down.

If anyone has a better idea, please say so.

I also noticed Kibby limping again this afternoon, so he's going for a vet visit first thing in the a.m.

Sorry for the late chime in, but I'd wait it out. let her come down on her own. I am so sure that it is stress related. So sorry Anne. Hopefully things will be better now that she is calmed down. poor Muffin!
 
Well, I certainly didn't expect this! :shock: DD did say Muffin may have helped herself to some Hot Pocket she left in her room ... ohmygod_smile She hasn't eaten much yet, but she is having a little now. I think I'm going to agree with Michelle, and ride it out, especially since she's not eating. This is making me worry about a p'titis relapse now. We'll see what the morning brings, and if she's still yellow or higher, she's getting a shot.
