So I skipped last night's shot since I was too chicken, and this morning he was higher - as expected. So I did give him his most recent dose (1 unit) expecting most of it to go to his shed. But, given that he's 68 at +5, I'm thinking it's still too much. His nadir is a bit earlier, so he could have been lower but I was just able to make it home to check now.
 
There's no reason to not shoot 1u. He's nadired and coming back up. He might get a second dip but that's ok because it shouldn't be lower than his nadir.

I'd shoot 1u on time if he were my cat.
