Happy Friday! The weekend is here! Sorry I've been MIA. We finally took our trip to visit family and it was a busy week away so it took some time to settle back into our routine.

Trip went well overall. Binx had no issues getting comfortable in a new space, but it was the drive(s) that really tested us (had a couple accidents, despite stops and litter box access). Definitely some things to figure out, but I think we can get there. Also, thank goodness for the back-up supplies I brought! Our Libre monitor battery died the second day, but I brought a spare and was able to use that. He also had a bit of diarrhea the first couple days (maybe the new space??), but I brought probiotics and that seemed to help. Looking forward to being able to make trips like this in the future, knowing now that Binx will be okay.

We've had to increase slightly over the last two weeks, I'm sure there was a bit of a spike due to the travels too, so we'll see how 6 units works for him.

Hi Briana! We missed you and Binx while you were away!! I'm so glad that he did relatively well on the trip. I'm curious, did he just choose not to use the litter box on the trip, even though one was available? I'm asking because I recently purchased a new travel carrier that has a litter box inside it. Jude has problems traveling even the 30 minute trek to the vet's office and has stress poo/pees in the carrier, which create an awful mess. I purchased the new carrier hoping he will opt to use the litter box in the carrier during such episodes, but I'm wondering if his poo/pee episodes are more involuntary, meaning he won't use the box. We haven't tried the carrier yet to see, and I've considered sending it back because my gut is telling me he won't use it. ANYWAY, yay for you and Binx that things went well, overall, and that you can look forward to going again in the future. That's a wonderful option! Also, I'm glad he's seeing some greens yesterday and today!! Keep it up, little guy!! Have a lovely weekend, Briana.

Uh, poor Jude. The car rides really aren't fun for them I think. It's interesting, I think on the drive there, he didn't fully understand how to signal to me he needed to go. He meowed once and I immediately pulled over and he had already peed. On the way back though, he seemed to be stirring a bit in the carrier, so I pulled over and placed him in the litter box and after a minute or so and some sniffing, he managed to pee. Maybe I should've left him in there longer because about 45 minute after, he pooped in the carrier sadly. So I was thinking maybe if he did have free access to a litter box, he'd take the initiative to go there instead. Can you send the link to what you bought? I'm curious.

With buying anything for cats, I'm usually 50/50 on if they'll take to it or not. New cat bed, toy, etc? Who knows! Makes trying things out difficult, but if you do try the carrier with the litter, let me know how it goes!
