Sunny is still at the 24/7 emergency vet, but she's stable. So I don't have to type it all out again, here's what Venita posted on the DCIN FB page:
Guess what Carolyn (a former DCIN foster and adoptive Mom) of Pawsitively Priceless Petsitting was able to accomplish at the emergency facility with Sunshine yesterday? She got Sunny to eat on her own!! Sunny only wanted a few pieces of kibble and the liquid off a Fancy Feast broth, but she ate something. YEAH!!
Sunny had an abdominal ultrasound and chest XRays yesterday. All her internal organs look good; no inflammation or disease obvious. So the best bet for a causative factor is an infection, and the urine culture is still "cooking." She continues to have high ketones, and she remains on standard DKA treatment. She can't leave the hospital until she starts eating a bit better, perks up some, and the ketones are down to at least moderate (but preferably trace or none).
