Hi All,

Today is Racci's Sweet 16 Birthday! Poor Racci, I had scheduled the cleaning ladies for today without thinking. :shock: Not a good present for her but hopefully they'll be done soon and she can have some fun then. At least her day started out good. I got up early with her and played a little and she had all her food, meds and poop before they got here.

I haven't bought her present yet. I'm not sure what to get. I've been debating getting her a stroller or another bed she may not use or another toy to add to her collection. I would like to get some kind of (electronic or not) toy that makes them think maybe. The stroller won't be used much since it will be cold soon but I would love to get her used to going for walks and broaden her horizons a little & I could really use it traveling with her since she's too heavy for me to carry in her carrier. I have to look around again tonight maybe.

Racci had another nice low night though not as low as last night. I hope she stays low today in spite of the cleaners. That's about it. I have to go. TTYL. I hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Melanie, Happy Birthday Racci! party_cat No suggestions for a gift, anytime we give our cats something, they always enjoy the package more than the toy :lol:
I have never used a stroller, it sounds interesting and something you and Racci could enjoy together. Enjoy your day!

Yay, a birthday!! I hope you find just the right gift for her .. it's so hard to choose isn't it? Sometimes it feels like my birthday when I go shopping for my girls' birthday :lol:

Hi Leslie!

I've only seen one person with a stroller so far and she had a dog stroller rather than a cat stroller, but it was adorable and so easy to use! Her carrier was part of the stroller so she could just take it apart with a couple of clasps, fold the wheel part up and use the carrier on a plane. She put it back together in a couple of minutes to leave the plane. I was really jealous. :lol: Anyway I found the cat version online but wanted one for two of them and couldn't find one that would handle both my girls' weight. Now that I only have Racci, I'm thinking of getting one again. I'm hoping it would give her something new and interesting to do.

I agree. It's very hard to find something that they will actually like and use! She has so many toys & beds that it's hard to come up with something new and exciting. She may like a new scratcher actually, though she loves hers. We had other scratchers and she thought they were okay but not as good as hers so it would have to be special. Thank you Alexa! Racci is very happy about all her birthday wishes! She doesn't know exactly what this means but she likes it. She keeps getting kisses and huggs and pets & treats so it's a good thing! :razz: :razz:

Melanie, if you get one of those kitty strollers, let me know how you like it! I would like one just to wheel Maggie to the car. I park a distance from my apartment. I've not seen anyone use them.

Alexa, I guess I'll just have to bring her back here for more sweet 16 hugs & kisses! I keep showing them to her but she hasn't figured out what to look for yet. Since she's only 52 she lucked out and can have treats! :lol:

The powers that be will certainly take your vote under consideration when we see how interesting the scratchers are. :lol:

Hi Ann & Libby!

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I was starving and had to get a late lunch and had to test & feed Racci. My eating schedule was all screwed up from having the cleaners here today.

Ann, I'll certainly let you know if I get a stroller. I wish I knew someone who had one. I would also be using it for a lot of short trips from the car since she's so heavy for me to carry with my bad back. I can do it without a carrier but that few extra lbs. just makes it impossible for me. Thanks for the birthday wishes!!

Libby, Thank you for the great birthday card and song! That's so cute! Such a pretty song too.

Oh boy, I missed Racci's birthday! SO SORRY! I got all tied up in my own drama yesterday and didn't make it around to everyone's condo, and I missed an important one. So, here's hoping you have a Great Birthday Recovery and that mamabean got you something neat!

Hi Jill,

Racci has 3 turbo scratchers! :lol: They are the favorite toy in this house. Of course one of them was Callie's (GA), but all of them were shared, one in each room they hang out in. Thanks! It's a great suggestion if she didn't have it. She absolutely loves it and sleeps on it half the time.

HI Jill - I completely forgot about Turbo Scratchers! Molly was never interested and my little Josie (GA) stopped playing with it when she got older. But then you mentioned it ... and I thought of Leo the Gymnast, so I clicked on your link and VIOLA a new one is on the way to my house. Thanks for the mental reminder!

Oh - and this is from a review that made me laugh -
A word of advice: don't put this in or near your bedroom. If your cat feigns disinterest when you first bring it home, watch out if you are a light sleeper -- a couple of hours into sleep you will wake with a start to the sound of the ball whipping around the track over and over and over again.

Below is Leo's favorite toy - he stalks it, chews on it, and regularly eviscerates it with his back paws. He was an outdoor cat until recently, and it took him a little while to "understand" what a cat toy is, but he loves this with the catnip. I'm not sure what Racci would think of it though, but we give it Two Claws Up!

Lisa,

Racci might like that squirrel! She watches the squirrels on the deck every day & is fascinated by them. It might be a perfect toy for her. I'll have to check if they have anything else I need so I can get free shipping. I hate paying more than something is worth for shipping. :lol:
