Good Morning LL! BEtween the heat and the vet visit I guess her numbers aren't unexpected, but still not pretty, like most of this week. but there have been lots of disruptions. We'll be gone again tomorrow so Tess has until Sunday to show us she can handle this dose.

The heat is supposed to continue today, but not quite as bad. BTB for the bean, until there is light enough to work on the patio.

WCR All 5 Ps, Clean Plate Club, in fact she is on the prowl for more.

Hi guys .. oh my tess .. what are we going to do with these pink numbers? I know it's warm, and I know you had to go to the vet but I also know you have it in you to bring out some much prettier numbers .. let's do that, ok? Have a great weekend guys!

Re: 10/14 Tess AMPS~374

Hi Ann & Tess,
I don't like your pink either!! Tess, time to get back down to your beautiful cycles. Thanks for your thoughts, Ann. I guess that sometimes there is no rhyme nor reason for why things just change. Doesn't keep us from dwelling on it, however! I hope that when the sun comes up out in CA that you will have a great day and cooler weather.

Re: 10/14 Tess AMPS~374

Tess, you're already such a pretty girl. How about you give up the pinks, and we'll give you some more necklaces to put on instead?
Hope she comes down to some nice yellows and blues!

Re: 10/14 Tess AMPS~374

Tess, dear, could you please come down to the nice blue floor? No more vet visits (for now). Have a great day!

Re: 10/14 Tess AMPS~374 +4~379

Hi Ann, I think the Santa Ana heat does affect how they feel. It is about 76 degrees here today, a little cooler. I was out earlier to beat the heat! I hope now that Vetty visit is over, Tess will come down to the blue floor. Have a nice afternoon.

Re: 10/14 Tess AMPS~374 PMPS~224

Ann is at the ceramics studio tonight, so DH did the shot, 4 drops  , think I got it right. :-D Anyway, Tess is gradually coming down, so this dose maybe OK after all. We got blood lab results from yesterdays vet visit today. No surprises, I think Ann is trying to put them on line. She can report later. I am making pizza, so have to get that into the oven. ~ John

Re: 10/14 Tess AMPS~374 PMPS~224

Glad Ann got out and got some more of her work done.

Re: 10/14 Tess AMPS~374 PMPS~224 +3~241 +5~239

Sorry, Michelle the heat left in a hurry this afternoon, we are back to marine layer. Those last two days were our summer.

I spent the evening getting Tess's lab results online. There is a tab on the bottom of her SS. Dr. Mimi is concerned that her renal values are creeping up (high end of normal) and her urine specific gravity is on the edge of low. We've known that we needed to keep an eye on this, now the vet is suggesting being proactive and wants us to think about calcitriol.

I'd appreciate it if we could get some eyes on her labs an if anyone is using calcitriol or dealing w/ earl stage renal problems. I'll repost this in the morning as most beans are sensibly in bed by now.

Hi Ann, sorry to hear Tess; renal values are creeping up! That sounds like a very good Vet to want to be proactive and start her on Calcitrol! Marje was of tremendous help with me on Maggie with info and links. It looks like your Vet just caught it in early stages. Maggie is more advanced renal disease and in Stage 2; here is a comparison of her renal values five months ago. This lab has slightly different ranges:

BUN 42 (High) (Ref. Range) 14-36

Creatinine 2.6 (High) (Ref. Range) 0.6-2.4

There is a lot can be done for it and a lot of helpful info, too. At first I freaked when my Vet said Mags had renal disease until I had more info. Have a good day today as I remember you had a class.
