Ripley is doing great today :mrgreen:
I just returned home from a wonderful weekend at Gracie's home in AZ. Her mama Marje was a most gracious host ~ I miss them already (as well as the big-hearted Tobey and always-compassionate Gus). They all tugged at my heart about a year ago when I joined the board, but meeting the clan in person was such an unforgettable privilege. I also had the opportunity to hang out with Rich (half of the R Team of Rich-n-Rex), who is also an amazing person.

DH did an amazing job of taking care of Ripples. I am so very thankful for him.
I came home and found Rip basking in the backyard ~ she woke up, saw me, and welcomed me with squawks :-D . I scooped her up for hugs and kisses, and she started purring like a normal kitty (a rarity for the purr-challenged Ripley). :-D :-D :-D

Today seems like a normal Lantus curve; the past few cycles were sprinkled with inverted curves (but just slightly, as her numbers are still within normal range). I'm going to keep her at this dose for a while and see if after 7 more cycles she'll earn a decrease.

Ripley is not hungry :sad: .
She only ate about half of her breakfast this morning; this afternoon she vomited up her Pepcid.
She's been acting 'fine' (= sleeping in the backyard and on her rocking chair this afternoon).
We gave her fluids after her insulin dose tonight, and thought she would want to eat her dinner afterwards (as usual); instead, she sniffed the food, and meowed, then curled up for a nap.
So I added some 'new' food: Wellness Chicken (she's been eating Wellness Turkey exclusively), and I thought that maybe she was bored with it. The addition of the Chicken to her bowl peaked her interest, she took a few licks, then curled up to sleep again.
I'm going to try to finger-feed her to see if that works...

Sending my Ripples Dipples many eating vines. I know you are so in tune with her that this is causing you much worry and anxiety. I hope it is a teeny tiny blip and she will feel better tomorrow. Perhaps she read her condo and is very jealous thinking you were loving on other kitties this weekend!

Thank you for loving our kittens so much this weekend. Gus told me he adores you and can't wait for you to come back and move his dish around as only you can!!!! He was not doing CPC tonight and I told Mike "you have to move it like Josie did and then he'll eat". :lol: :lol: :lol: You have the golden touch!

She just got up and ate a little, about 1 T or so of food. I guess she's feeling a little punk tonight. I just wish I knew why. I should teach Ripley Morse Code...

Hi, Rhiannon, it's possible she ate something outside -- she does like to munch on grass, so perhaps she ingested something else, too. I'll never know...

Hi, Marje, thanks for the positivity toward Ripley. I'm sure I'm making things worse by worrying and hovering over her. :roll: I'm really good at that.
Tell Gussie he needs to mangia! I'll come out anytime to move his fuds around ;-) . I miss you all already.

Oh, I so know how you feel...why can't they talk and tell us what is bothering them?? Sending tons and tons of appy vines to sweet Ripley. I have spent my day trying to NOT hover over Noah for the same reason...it is so hard, but I know they feel our worry and it just magnifies the situation.

Feel better Miss Ripley!!
 
Thanks for the good appy thoughts, Jane and Amy :-D :-D They worked! When I returned to check on Ripple after my last post, her little bowl was CPC'd (about another tablespoon or so) :-D .

Now if I could only figure out what's causing these higher-than-normal numbers tonight... there's a definite little blip going on. I'm sure tomorrow will be a better day for her. It's no fun being such a worrier (for anyone in my household!).

Yeah, I know what you mean about being a worrier, too...no fun for anyone - just ask my DH and all the kitties!!

It was nice to talk about all things FurBabies. It was nice to be around others that get us! :)

I'm glad Ripley's eating now. Phew...!
Maybe she just missed you so much.

It happens to Lucy too.
She used to be OK if I went away for a few days, but since 3 or 4 of years ago, she always got a little sick after I returned.
She'd be OK while I was gone, but got a little sick after I returned.
I think stress likes to give delayed response, sometimes for us human too.
I hope she'll keep improving, Josie,
In the meantime, I'm sending tons of eating and feel-better vines to Ripley.
 
Keep eating Ripley. All your aunties are worrying about you now. I'm sure a certain amount of it was her missing you Josie.

As for her numbers, maybe it's the phase of the moon - just got a 154 here too. :lol:
