Good morning! ~O)

Well, Corduroy's numbers have been higher than I would like to see. Last night was confusing for me: His BG level at PMPS time was 231, at +2, it was 258 and then at +4, it was 295! Has anyone ever had this happen? I'm 99.9% sure that I didn't give him a fur shot. Does anyone have an idea about why this is happening? He seems to be acting fine.

Another question I have is: Has anyone ever given their cats two doses of Advantage II in less than the recommended month's time? On the directions, it says that if they are still showing signs of having fleas, then you can administer it again, as long as it's not within seven days, but I just wanted to ask around to see if anyone had experience with it first.

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday and that your kitties get, and stay, safely in the green!

Hi, Brigitte, I unfortunately don't have answers to your questions, but I'll bump you up in case someone is able to provide some insight for you tonight.

I hope you guys are having a good evening! :-D

i've given Advantage in less than a month to get on top of fleas. i don't think there's any concerns about it, just don't put it where you give the injection - at least avoid the Advantage area for a couple of shots.

when numbers go up like that instead of having a curve down to a nadir, you've got a bit of a bounce going. it's not unusual, in fact it's common. it'll clear. there's an explanation of bounces here (second post) on the "lantus New to the Group" sticky:

New Dose Wonkiness

Thanks Josie for bumping me up there! :-D

And, thanks Julie for reminding me that I need to give the Advantage away from the area of his injections. I guess I really didn't think of that! Also, thanks for the link to the explanation of bounces. I just start feeling like none of his numbers make any sense sometimes.
