Yesterday's This is Why Beans Get Gray Condo
Day two of Megacone and we are managing better than expected. It's actually easier to test, as the collar is wider and it's easier to get my hand in there to grab an ear. Poor Cinco has a lot of trouble moving around - he gets caught on things alot, but he figures it out. Some modification to the food dish have proved successful:
This is the view of Cinco from helicopter mom:
I seem to have found a system that works for treating the leg. I give the Bupe, then an hour or so later I do the warm compress, and an hour after that apply the ointment. The Bupe is obviously making the leg feel better, because I get no growls and only token resistance when I grasp the leg!
We might just get this thing handled! (anti-jinx, anti-jinx, anti-jinx!) We have a blue surf going today. Nice and relaxing. The vet didn't think the small amount of steroid in the ointment would affect BGs, but we shall see. It's only a short-term treatment, so I'm not too worried about it.
Sasha's appy is still iffy. I totally forgot to pop over to Oncology yesterday when I was at UCD to see if I could ask Dr. S for an appetite stimulant ohmygod_smile I'm gonna send her an e-mail as soon as I finish this, before I forget again. I feel like I am getting enough food into her, but it's a long, drawn-out process. Otherwise she is doing really well.
Fall has arrived in Northern CA finally! I'm making it very welcome, hoping it will stay a while! Cool breeze (okay wind) and high clouds make for a much more comfortable bean. Sasha is moving around the house, following the sunshine! She really is a heat seeking missile.
Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG: Praying for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF & DH, Lisa's DF and Elise's DM.
