Surprise!
Came home from running errands and Charlie was STARVING, meowing, rubbing on me, meowing, so I gave him a snack and tested him and wow that was unexpected. Especially as we transition to this higher-carb food.

So I guess that's a dose reduction for him. I thought we were going to back up. Silly human, tricks are for kitties!

My Charlie was a steroid-induced diabetic. He was initially diagnosed with diabetes after he went on prednisolone for IBD. His BG skyrocketed, then dropped back to normal after a stopping the pred. I’m not saying your Charlie will go off insulin entirely, but pred can have a significant impact on BG, and BG patterns, so I’m glad you’re getting in those additional tests. Even if your Charlie didn’t drop at certain times in the cycle while on pred, it’s a bit of a new ballgame now without pred so data collection is really important.
