Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving to all of my Canadian friends!

AMPS 207 shooting 3.25u
Boomer got me up once last night after he visited the litter box

We had Thanksgiving dinner with my oldest daughter and her family yesterday. It was wonderful, everyone was talkative, the meal was very good (my DH does most of the cooking) and my granddaughter Sophia enjoyed my backyard birds. She fed the Blue Jays and the Cardinals and got to see a Downy Woodpecker and a Black-Capped Chickadee as well as a Grackle and of course the House Sparrows.

Today on the agenda....well the forecasted sun for this morning has been blocked by unforecasted clouds:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: so I'm waiting to see how quickly it clears (or if it clears). Also waiting for +3....then we will know whether we can make the 45 minute drive to try to find the Sandhill Cranes along with a number of hawks and sometimes owls that hang out in the same area.

Yesterday at Saunders Pond I was on one of the paths with a fellow photographer and all of a sudden the Pileated Woodpecker screamed and it was very close to us! We scoured the trees until I spotted him making his way down the back of the tree to his favourite excavating hole. This is the 7th time this summer I've been fortunate enough to see these amazing birds! So today's photo is of the Pileated Woodpecker!

DH and I are going on a road trip but I really wish the clouds would go away; my cameras aren't good with low light :(

Have a beautiful day Judy. I hope the clouds cooperate with you for more great shots!
Keep enjoying Thanksgiving:) I love Canada, and would enjoy visiting again. I've only been to Calgary, on a road trip from Colorado - about 45 years ago. Pretty limited!
You have a great day too, Boomer, meow.

I think I remember last year your thanksgiving being closer to ours?? Glad yours was nice and how lucky to have DH doing most of the cooking! You are a lucky lady!

Love seeing a photo of Woods! ;)
