Yesterday. Caber Yr 2 Day 9

She had a great day yesterday and thought about the toofy creatures last night but it was late and mom yanked her back in.

She had a huge poop overnight. That's great cuz it's been awhile despite all the stuff I've been giving her last couple of days. Today she gets fluids and that helps.

Paula, thank you so much for helping to ease my mind about the fluids. Tina obviously feels better afterward too. We send a bunch of love to Ollie and you too:bighug:

Repeat IGF 1 is in.

10/6/18 = 382

10/7/19 = 423

Dr. says as did Wendy, results don't normally improve.

So what does it mean and what do we do:
Tumor is getting bigger.
Tumor output is still active.
Dr says we can wean her off cabergoline if I want to, as we really don't know how much it effects other pituitary actions. And see what happens, will Ollie decline rapidly, will insulin dose go up, will symptoms return............

Dr said most cats live 1 -2 yrs after dx. Ollie is now 16 months of dx. Dr. said Ollie is doing very well considering all her issues known and has good quality of life and is happy, healthy otherwise and can be feisty at times.

What will I do.... I will continue cabergoline as it keeps her symptoms controlled. Will keep doing as we are and stay on top of possible ckd as Ollie is on the cusp of it. Just love, cuddle when she allows it and spoil her (within FD guidelines) until she tells me otherwise.

Paula, your last paragraph says it all.
The result isn't drastically different, either, but you understand more about the numbers.

Paula , I love your prospective ♥️ Lately I've been looking less at Elmo's numbers( BGs and age alike) and more at his behavior , appy , is he up in his window to gauge how he's feeling/doing . Not that those BGs and SS are secondary or unimportant but I'm focused now on what I see ...how he's behaving . That's just how I'm rolling right now :):cat:
 
Keep her on cabergoline, it impacts growth hormone output. Which in turn impacts the dose and other side effects such as bony growth. IGF-1 is a side effect of growth hormone, so measuring a different thing. Cats who have undergone SRT, which shrinks the pituitary tumour, also have lower growth hormone, but not necessarily lower IGF-1. Julie had punkin’s done after SRT, and his IGF-1 went up to, even though his dose went down. The relationship between growth hormone and IGF-1 is not linear or well understood. The acro IM specialists at CSU told me not to bother retesting, because the number would be meaningless. Other than worrying the caregiver. It does not mean the tumour is getting bigger.

We have had non treated acros live for four years after diagnosis, Kathy’s TiTi was almost five I think. Live in the moment, that is what Ollie does.:bighug:

As it's been said before, our sugar cats are more than just a number. Look at the "whole" cat and their behaviour, normal or abnormal.
 
Poor Tux has been vomiting all day. Foamy white stuff. Not interested in food. If he isn't better tomorrow I will take him to walk in urgent care. After my urgent dental visit. Have a tooth we've been watching that is now hurting, so it will probably have to be pulled. Good thing it's the last tooth in the back.
