A slightly slower start this morning, but I'm not complaining...she's had some happy times in the green lagoon lately!

My 16 year old civvie, Mario, has been soooo spunky lately - that adequan must really be doing him some good. Not only has his posture improved greatly, but he is so playful again. Until the last year or so, he was always a playful kitty, and I was missing that. Last night, aside from bring a toy down to us, he was chasing the crumpled paper balls I made out of the Target flyer. And, he was tossing them for himself - grabbing them in his mouth, flinging them, then chasing them. He hasn't done that in YEARS! I was trying to get myself ready for sleep when all this was going on last night...but how could I go to bed and not play with him for a while longer? He's just so cute. ~O) ~O) ~O) time....

Hi guys .. another lovely set of numbers for trixie, well done! I LOVE it when kitties take their own toys and end up tossing them around for their own enjoyment .. mocha does that a lot and it cracks us up .. Anyways, so glad to hear your civvie has his spunk back .. have a great day guys!

Trixie is having a great start to her day!!!

I love hearing about Mario. It really makes me realize I need to get off my flabby behind and get Champ started on the Adequan!!! So nice to hear he's doing well!!

Awww how sweet! Mario must be feeling like a kitten again! Leo's vet gave us some Omega 3 and Dasequin (sp?) to give to him but i can't start until his mouth is all healed up. Is adequan the same?

Miss Trixie is looking fabulous as usual, keep up the good work girl!

Lovely numbers for Trixie today and wonderful news about Mario! Simon is on dasuquin and I have noticed a difference but he still is having a little trouble jumping up on things. I think Adequan is supposed to be the next step if the dasuquin isn't working. I know I have asked you this before, but are you giving it subq or IM? I'm seeing the vet tomorrow with Cleo and I wanted to talk to him about the adequan but I want to be able to give it subq. The last time I saw the vet, he said it was done IM which would be a problem to do at home.

Hi Georgia - We give the adequan as a subQ shot, and it works. I guess it was originally thought it had to be IM - and that's what just about everything says online, too - but our vet subQ is fine. And, I think a few others here are giving it SubQ as well.

Trixie Cat is looking great these days. I'm so glad the feeding experiment worked out and you've found a good %carb food to give her.

That is great news about Mario!!!! Video video!!!

I also gave the adequan subq to Gus....vet said it was fine. But he has congenital arthritis that SFs get and it didn't do much for him. I think what helps him most is the chiro vet that comes every week.

LOL...that is actually who he is named after!! At the time we got Mario, hubby was a bit too into video games. However, I could not convince him that we needed a Luigi, too :lol: ! (Little did he know what lay on the road ahead!!! Back then, we only had 2 furbombs...)

Another nice evening for Trix...hopefully we'll be able to call it a night soon!
 
trixie sure is looking great today!

super to hear that mario is feeling better. i'm going to try the cosequin for punkin and see if he can move a little more easily. i keep wondering if he isn't grooming because it hurts to twist around, because he does plenty of grooming me!
