Didn't eat his +7.5 snack and when i got up he threw up just a small (quarter size) bit of foam - stomach acid. I had a talk with him and told him that is why he needs to eat his fudz. I got him to eat his freeze dry treats right after I tested the +11 and no additional issues. Ate bfast with enthusiasm.

Hope everyone has a fabulous Friday (the 13th:eek:)

Amazing the magic that freeze dried treats can be
Truth! If he eats them from his feeder at the +9.5 turn he does not have any stomach acid (foam throw up). I think the fact that he didn't eat either his +7.5 snack nor his +9.5 FD was the issue (and it was a very small issue). I only put 2-3 pellets down but that is all it takes for him not get the AM acid.

Happy Weekend, Lizzie :bighug: Could u please post the treats u are talking about ...I know they will be good for Elmo too as I am cautious with his 18 year old kidneys and phos levels :)

These are what I put in his feeder:

These are what he gets after his shot:

Not sure how good they are for kidneys but these are the only thing I give him treat wise. Sometimes making him happy is better than being concerned about that, plus he gets such a small amount of both daily that it shouldn't be a huge issue.

Note: I also use the "powder" from the duck liver (bottom of bag) as an appy enticer. I sprinkle it on top of his food and rarely does it NOT work. :)

As long as I'm not on the flight to Helsinki right now everything is good. Literally, flight 666 to HEL on Friday the 13th... I would have switched flights if I was on that one.

Guess he was just making room for breakfast. Glad he got his appy back and polished off breakfast for you.

Happy Friday.

Thanks for those links. If only I could transport myself magically to the U.S. to get so many of these things! Would make visiting mom easier, too... :-)

I must be a bad cat mom: I don't give Girlie treats after BG tests - I just give her a scratch under the chin. She's mad for Vitamin E for some reason, so I do give her a tiny dab of that after I give her the asthma Aerokat inhaler; that or a tiny bit of liverwurst, which she adores. She minds the Aerokat much more than the BG testing...although I catch her when she's half asleep, so she doesn't notice the Aerokat until several breaths in. She's usually good with it, though - rarely protests anything that I do to her, good girl that she is. Exception: enema, which is why the mobile vet is going to come do that today. That's her line in the sand...

Gizmo is doing so well! But those low numbers at night...I wouldn't be able to function if I had to stay up every night...no amount of caffeine would suffice. You must be so thrilled, though, with the progress! :-)
