I hope everyone had a great Caturday. Mine was catch up day, and I did get alot done, bills, laundry, shopping, all the fun stuff! Not too terribly exciting, but things were accomplished. That and some serious recovery time from the week. It was a blast, and a challenge to have the boys five days during the week. We sure had fun though, lots of really cool things to do. Caturday was my recovery day. I was able to get out for a shore and woods walk in the afternoon too. This is what I wrote last night about yesterday: "Hi everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. Mine had been OK. One of catch and errands. I pretended I was Lola and went through everything at wrap speed, got ALOT done.  Well seriously, did get the shopping done, the laundry, the cleaning, the errands, cat fuds shopping, the bills etc, AND even managed a walk to the shore. WOOT! The shore was really nice. It had rained this morning, so alot of folks didn't show, which was fine by me. I had most of the place all to myself. It was a nice day down at the shore. By then the sun was trying to poke it's way though, not very successfully. ;-) We hiked the woods too. With all the rains of late alot of really cool things have started to grow: awesome jelly fungus, purple color, was making an appearance on a log on an offshoot trail. That was kinda cool to find. 'Shrooms are sprouting up everywhere! It was a great afternoon out. Of course I took a few photos..." More Meadowdale...

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!   It was such a quiet day here yesterday for the kitties... Until I came back from the store and brought paper bags.    Why buy kitty toys when a paper bag can provide endless moments of fun. Lola just loves them, playing for a long time. Bug didn't make an appearance initally. Just like last week Lola would start at one end of the floor, fly into the bag and then slide the rest of the way. Over and over again. Bug decided later on to tackle the bags. I had cut holes in the corners. He thought that was the coolest thing, stuck his paw all the way through, which got Lola's attention. That started a whack-a-thon with Lola on the outside of the bag and Bug on the inside. Weirdest whack-a thon I have ever seen. Needless to day it wasn't much later that I heard several RIIPPPPPPPPPs! yes indeed... why buy kitty toys.... Elsa had wandered through the kitchen during all this mayhem, looked at the two of them and promptly went back downstairs, took a nap on the bed. ;-) Yupp! Normalcy in MusketeerVille!

Have a great day everyone! I hope to be able to hike today - either in the central or north cascades. I'd love to see the mountains in all their fall color, and with the dustings of fresh snow that have been reported. We shall see how the weather pans out today, before I make to commitment to go. Paws crossed! I will try to get to condos when I can. SO SORRY I missed so many of you yesterday....

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!!

It sounds like you had a nice walk yesterday. It's always better when there aren't a lot of other people around. I love hearing about Lola and Bug playing with the paper bags. I agree, why buy kitty toys. I hope you get good weather for your hike today.

Hi everyone! I hope your Sunday has been a good one. I did make it out to go hiking, over near Leavenworth. What an outstanding day to be outdoors. Tons of fall color, larches, and a very pretty creek. Weather here was much the norm - all that fog and clouds in the morning, burned off in time for make for a great afternoon. Sure was foggy on HWY 2 today - that didn't clear until I was up near Stevens pass. It was however, a gorgeous day east of the pass. Sunny and nice in Leavenworth. Sunny and cold on the trail. It was reported to b be 31 I think. Good thing I layered up. LOL. It was a gorgeous hike today. It was an easy one, but nice. I think I did 6.5 miles, GPS said I climbed 1068 feet, though I'm not too sure where that was... trail is more or less flat, with some climbing. Oh well no matter. I had a blast while out there. I went for fall color, larches and some awesome creeks. I was fortunate today, and got all three. The colors this year are outstanding: vivid reds, intense yellows, warm oranges... and very prolific. The larches were just starting to turn yellow, but wow: very nice! and the creek? well Icicle Creek just never disappoints. This was great: Along the trail there is a section where folks have built several cairns. When I was here a few months ago, there were maybe 10 or so. Now there are dozens upon dozens, all of the outstanding, all so unique. The overall impression is quite nothing short of amazing. Found some larches too - yaHOO! all in all - fantastic day there. The drive over was very nice too alot of fall color this year, and it is all so vibrant. really great color, and alot of reds too. Very nice time. I will post the Picassa link in tomorrow's condo.

Hi Carla, thanks for the visit! Yes on yesterday - it was great, and more or less people-less, just the way I like it there. THX on Lola and Bug - and I so agree. They love the bags, have such fun with them. THX on today - the weather over there was so nice, and the hike was great! It was the best time.

Sounds absolutely gorgeous!
That is certainly top of the list of the things I miss living in Florida...fall colors :-D But were still in the 80's so everything is a trade off ;-)
I am going to have to get a paper bag out again. They haven't had one for awhile. Such great entertainment for all

Hello Michelle - we are expecting to get a stretch of nice weather so should be some good outdoor trips with the boys this week. You are so right on the many 'shrooms popping up - and I'm not just talking about the ones in my lawn.

I'd love to see a video of the paper bag whack a thon, that sounds so cute. You also reminded me I should be putting out paper bags. Don't think I've done that since civie Theo was added to the house.

Hi Wendy ~O) ~O) ~O) I so hope on the weather - that is what they are predicting, and I sure hope it holds. It will be good to get the boys out, they have such fun when we go. :-D on the 'shrooms. They are everywhere! I was thinking tht too on getting a video of the paper bags and these kitties. not too sure why I didn't. Such great entertainment!
