A low yellow preshot, with some time in greens this morning. A nice mellow morning for Kit. So far she doesn't seem to mind/care/recognize that there is another cat in the bathroom. So at least she's not stressed about it?

He’s sooo cute. How can you keep your hands off that cute little guy/gal??? I’d be all mushing on him. Can’t help myself.
Maybe he will let you give him some cuddles for comfort :kiss::kiss::kiss:
He has zero desire to be petted - if we come close to him he backs off pretty quickly - he is still pretty scared and overwhelmed. I feel bad because sometimes he mews like he wants a friend, but that friend is for sure not me - which makes sense since I'm the large scary thing that trapped him and took him somewhere else.

Eric and I have taken turns just going in and sitting. He will stare and meow or growl/hiss a little, and then just feigned ignorance. But definitely not at all relaxed. I gave him a big ol' fluffy cat bed to lay on that Kit has refused to use, a cube to hide in, food, churu on a plate, but mostly he hides between the curtains on the bathtub and just looks sad.

I'm hoping he's young enough that he can understand that humans can be good. Sometimes it's just too late to make them indoors cats. Still hoping.

Hi Alicia,
Not a bad cycle for Kit cat with a few green numbers!

I remember when I adopted two rescued kittens. I put them in the laundry room and they were both terrified initially. Like you and Eric are doing, I sat there with a book, just being there like a piece of furniture. It took a few days but all of a sudden, they both decided to cuddle. So it may take a little particularly if the kitty isn't used to people, but he'll turn around. It's been less than 24 hours - so give him time? You guys are doing right things!
Sending you :bighug::bighug::bighug:

oh wow you got CC! Way to go! He/she is a cutie. I bet CC will learn that some humans can be good. A steady supply of food and treats may help the learning process :)
I hope so. I'm not used to kitties not liking me. Even ones that are usually standoffish usually like me. But kitty has food, water, litter, treats, toys, and somewhere safer to sleep, so I can live with that (I mean, I'll still be sad that he doesn't immediately love me, but that's a me thing lol)

Hi Alicia, Kit's looking good today. I'm sure it makes you said the he or she hasn't come around yet. You and Eric are doing the right thing just sitting there for awhile with him or her. I'm sure after awhile he or she will start coming closer to you and Eric and start to trust both of you. :bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:

Thanks, Diane. I hope we see more friendliness. I hand the kitty off to the folks that are keeping him on Saturday or Sunday, and I just worry about handing off a cat who might be too feral to be inside.

Nice numbers for Kit today. I hope ceiling cat calms down and gets used to you soon. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Thanks, Carla. Tonight he seems to realize that I'm food lady. He ate, I gave him some more, he ate that and then meowed, so I gave him some more (he's so scrawny), and he seemed less trying to get away when I brought in the third bowl of food. Still "hiding" (does it count as hiding if it's between shower curtains that I can mostly see through?). But maybe a little more relaxed. Like, an infinitesimally tiny amount.
