Today's numbers

AMPS 439 IU Levemir
+4 250
+6 138
+8 168
PMPS 473 <---The elevator cat
+7.5 155

AM--->Bastian is in a pretty predictable pattern on the 1U Levemir. He's good. He's come out his shell some, but is still not very interactive with people or cats.

PM---->Bastian and I had a talk at +6 about being a little more interactive. He immediately went over to Casey (my 2YO) who was on the same bed. He sniffed Casey, Casey rolled onto his back and assumed the play position, grabbing at Bastian's body. Bastian growled quietly and left the bed. At +8 we had the same talk, and Bastian laid on the bed with me, although at a distance where I couldn't touch him, and we took a nap. When I woke, Bastian was gone and Casey was lying on my hand.

Overnight--->An extra effort to get up to test at 3:30am. Now I'm wide awake. Looks like the place he goes at night is very much like the place the goes during the day.

Oh, I am hoping to see lower numbers for Bastian soon. Those 400s can't be fun! Glad to hear he is starting to think about coming out of his shell.

That's a good drop in 4 hours. Almost 200 points; that Lev really works for Bastian. :-D

Re: 10/13, Foster Bastian, AMPS 439

Gets him down but doesn't keep him down. He was like that on Lantus for the longest time.

Re: 10/13, Foster Bastian, AMPS 439

yeh, I see that. I wonder if the fast drop causes him to bounce? Some kitties do that even though they don't get super low, it's the speed of the descent that may cause him to be a bouncy boy.

It just seems weird that neither Lantus nor Lev can keep him lower. I know there have been a few kitties... very few it seems, that need shots at more frequent intervals. I'm not sure I'd go there yet with Bastian. So I lean toward the bounce viewpoint.

Mainly because when he went green, he bounced to reds the next cycle or two. And from the blue he'd bounce to the pinks for the next cycle. It is possible he went green overnight and resulted in the red start for today.

(Those overnight tendencies for lower numbers drove me crazy when BigMac did it. Sheesh, why didn't he do that when I was wide awake?) :?

I'm just guessing for Bastian. I hope he starts to level off a bit for you.

you could also try some tiny snacks at +1, +2, and +3 to slow any of his big fast drops.
The snacks my slow down the freefall and give him a chance to avoid bouncing.

I will try that.
