Good morning, Squeaky's numbers were in the high 200s and low 300s yesterday, he was sluggish not doing great at all. This morning, he is totally hovering over/next to his water dish and kind of coughing a bit. He is meatloafed and looks just like a kid hovering over a vomit pan about to throw up. Although I don't think it is digestive. Any clues or ideas of what might be going on?

The vet tech is actually on her way to deliver something and can look at him. I described this over the phone, she doesn't know.

Oh hmmmm, one thought is he might be about to have a BM.

Morning, Jan. I am not an expert like many of these folks here but one thing to keep in mind is these wild swings in numbers are hard on the kitties and they can be grumpy while being in the process of getting regulated. It's like eating a whole size bag of peanut M&Ms (high numbers) and then coming down from that sugar high (uncomfortable stomach, headache, etc.). I don't have a way with words like others :) but hopefully that helps a little. And - as a note - squeaky could still be constipated or something else but the swings in numbers could also be in play.

Thanks Susanne, he was fairly level yesterday unless there were undocumented swings. I don't want to test him any more than necessary!!!! However so far still no poop but he actually played a bit this morning!!!! I think the cat mother needs to stop panicking with every little downturn.

And I think you have a great way with words! Your caring says it all!

Yah I had three ice cream cones this summer (not in one sitting) and by the third one, I'm like. Yuck. Done with this....... However it sure tasted good!!!!

Hope the rest of the day went well for you and Squeaky!!!

Hi Tanya, how are you and how are things with Cosmo?

We had a small poop (Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd have in depth discussions about my cat's poop), and he did all right after that today.

The big news is we got the budesonide and started it tonight. Tomorrow we start tapering the prednislone. Hopefully this is what will create big change here.

So I'll test again at +2 and we'll see what's next.

Best,
Jan
