Link to Day 3 of Insulin Moratorium
Yoshi here. Gave Jack breffies 30 minutes early - we are leaving for a meeting - I'll be back around +1 (10:00 EST)
So with Jack's numbers finally consistent for a few days - I think we'll be starting protocol again tomorrow morning. As we have the microliter syringe now - we'll be starting him on a 0.1u dose, I think. Today will be his last day with no insulin.
I found this tidbit on the low carb diet petdiabetes.wikia page:
[[ Raw food with proper nutritional supplements are often best for both cats and dogs.
Note: The carbohydrates shown on the label (if they exist at all) will be by weight, not by calorie content. ]]
It appears they used to have a link to a conversion chart so you could convert the carbohydrate listing by weight to carbohydrate listing by caloric count. So the 1% carbs in Primal is probably a little higher, because I'm assuming it's listed by weight. I already posted a note to the admins of wikia.com that the chart was gone - my quick google search for it brought up all sorts of random calorie/carb/protein counters - but not a weight to calorie carb conversion chart - anyone know where to find this conversion chart?

Thanks for the liter box suggestions on checking for ketones said:Are there other signs we can look for to help us gauge if he may be entering ketoacidosis? Are there symptoms or warning signs other than high blood glucose?
