Yesterday's Brief Taste of Freedom Condo

Ah, yes, freedom is a fleeting thing.... especially for kitties that chew on their legs! Cinco is back in the cone and not happy about it, but we move on. Numbers are still acceptable and appy is reasonably good. My plan is to take the bandage off later today and wash the leg again (with DH's help), then spray some of that hot spot stuff on it and let it air out. Then we just put on our patience pants and wait. Hopefully, it will heal and when we take the collar off again, he won't have the urge to lick the heck out of it. Here is a photo of him enjoying his brief respite from the cone:

Sasha's appy is still so-so. She did eat all her breakfast, with prompting and kitty crack. I took a picture of her yesterday in her new hoodie - it was a little cooler so we switched out the tank top.

This week's NASCAR race is tonight, so we are off to Costco to pick up ribs and trip tip to slow cook on the grill. I hope there is still fresh corn at the grocery store - the season is winding down. Hope everyone has a lovely Caturday.

Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG: Praying for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, Elise's DM and Lisa's DF. Our hearts are still heavy over Zener's crossing, and Liz, Anne & Tillie remain in our thoughts & prayers.

Cinco! Cinco! Man, you know the only thing that belongs in a cone is a little Ben & Jerry's. Stinker. Stop. Licking. (I know, I know. I have mosquito bites from '95 that won't go away 'cuz I won't stop scratching!!)

Adorable little sleepy boy picture. Seems sad, though, that he takes his respite from the cone to sleep; he should be running and rubbing on everything and collecting scritches while he has the chance!

And I gasp at Sasha's beauty. My goodness, such a classic pose. Great hoodie; her color, I think. Now, little girl, pick up that appy. You can do it. Tricia, she really seems to be doing well, though. So glad for that.

Yup on the race tonight. Getting even more exciting at this point in the season. Now I can catch me some football tomorrow instead of channel switching through the afternoon.

Have a great evening.

Nice action today, Cinco. :-D Be calm tonight so the beans can go to the races. Great pictures, Tricia! Thank you for sharing. Sasha is a beauty. :-D Sending appy vines for her and no licking vines for Cinco. Thank you for thinking of us. Hugs.

Those are such great pictures. Sasha looks adorable in her hoodie. I hope Cinco will leave his leg alone so you can keep the cone off. Sending appy vines for Sasha.

Tricia..have you ever tried something like Benedryl on Cinco?

Just wonder if he's allergic to something in the patch "glue" and that's why he won't leave it alone until whatever it is has worked it's way out of his system.

Poor Cinco....Life just isn't fair sometimes....once you get the cone off, it should stay off!!...of course if he'd leave it alone, I know you'd be thrilled to take it off and keep it off

Sasha looks adorable in her little hoodie!

Hope you're enjoying the race and that you found fresh corn at the store! Ours petered out about 10 days ago, but it sure was good while it lasted!

Now we're back to canned corn and "fresh" tomatoes that taste like cardboard for the winter...BOOOOO!!!

Thanks for stopping by, Marilyn, Carla, Liz and Chris.

The race turned out to be a major disappointment. My driver had mechanical issues and his chances of winning the championship took a severe hit. I like the driver that won, though, so not a total loss. Then there were the shenanigans afterwards. Tensions are high during the playoffs, and there were some harsh words exchanged and fists swung. Fun, fun, fun!

So Cinco is taking another evening swim. This is getting to be a habit. Not a bad one, as habits go. We are going to take the bandage off tomorrow and wash the leg. Chris, I hadn't thought about giving him benadryl. I think I'll try that. I really, really want to get the cone off him.

Negative on the corn. The store didn't have any. I might try a roadside produce stand tomorrow. They often have it after the stores run out. Luckily our tomatoes are still coming, so we won't have to resort to the cardboard kind for a while yet.

Sasha didn't want her dinner. I gave her some Ondansetron and tried again a couple hours later. No sale. I offered chicken baby food and she ate almost half the jar! I still think she's playing me! Or maybe the vet was right and the cat food is too fatty for her right now. At least I got nourishment into her.

Trust me, Marilyn, Cinco got his share of scritches while the collar was off. Besides a full body rubdown, I got under his chin, behind his ears between his eyes, etc. He ate it up!

Cinco continues to look great. I hope the Benadryl helps and he can leave his cone off.

Sending beautiful Sasha eating vines. I loved the photos of those two.

Sorry about the race. The BBQ sounds yummy!!!!!

I hope Cinco surfed it safely for you, Tricia! Sending tons of appy vines for Sasha, who is just so stinkin' cute in her new hoodie!!!

So this is who Tess is hanging w/ in the Lagoon! At least Cinco didn't head for the deep end! I hope the cone is off fo good soo.

Oh, Sasha is just adorable! She was born to be a model!
