Since you fed some high carb, you'll need to test for about 2 hours after the last HC feeding. If you can monitor and have the necessary supplies, you can shoot any number over 50 on a human meter. Get a +1 to start and please update your SS when you get a minute.:bighug:

I fed the tsp HC at 8:50 and shot at 9:30.
I get nervous shooting low because I don't have access to keep testing with a handheld. If I get a number over 50 on the Libre, is it safe to shoot and monitor with the Libre only?

It's generally a good idea to double check the Libre low number with a handheld if you can.
Has your experience been that the handheld reads higher than the Libre?
It looks like Butch prefers :D:D:D.

The few test that I have gotten on the handheld when Butch is low on the Libre haven't been far off. The Contour Next was a little higher (about 15 points higher than the Libre).

Sometimes Lantus gives a double dip. More about that in the Basics Sticky in the part describing an active cycle (I'm on my phone at the moment and can't seem to be able to insert the link :().

I'm sure you've heard many members say that Lantus is really great at giving flat cycles in lower numbers. A Lantus double dip is a great opportunity to take advantage of that.

Is it almost time for that +1?

Yes, +1 135 - Should I give LC or MC snack? Butch likes to dive, but I did give little less of a dose tonight.

When Butch is in the low numbers (50 & 60), I usually give mc every 1/2 to hour to keep him flat.

I look at the Basics Sticky, thank you.

I'd stick with LC for now and get a +2 :)
