Blackie has a vet appt this afternoon for the lump on his back and for bloodwork. I'm hoping his bloodwork is so good that we can decrease his fluids. He hasn't had any since Thursday morning.

WCR: Blackie was a very hungry boy this morning. I got the +1.5 just in case he was dropping. DH will get a +3. Blackie is feeling good - I've seen him running several times last night and this morning. With his arthritis, his run is kind of funny looking, but he moves as fast as he can go. :mrgreen: All P's in place.

Busy morning at tbp, so I'll have to visit condos later. I hope everyone has a good start to the week.

Crossing my fingers for a positive outcome today at the vet's. *HUGS* Please keep us posted when you return. I, for one, am interested to know what's going on with your baby Blackie.

I hated adding MC when Blackie had was surfing greens, but I had to go back tbp and DH won't be home until +8. At least he was green. :mrgreen: I also got to see a magical poop while I was home. :mrgreen: Amazing what can make us happy. Our vet appt is late afternoon so I don't know if we'll get the bloodwork results back today, but I'll update you all. Thanks for the good vetty vines.

Nice catch on the +5.5 sending more vetty vines to Blackie. It's good that he hasn't needed squids since Thurs.

Sorry, not much of a vet report. Dr. M felt the lump and thought it would be better to do nothing for now since it is already getting smaller. All other exam things, heart, eyes, temperature, etc. were normal. He thought Blackie looked great. As the vet was going out of the exam room to get the tubes for the blood draw, Blackie started getting very mad. He was hard to hold for the blood draw even with a vet tech and me holding him. He couldn't get a clear shot at the vein, so he asked us to bring him back in the morning. Blackie was so mad that when I put him back in the carrier, I had to give him a minute before I could close the door, cuz he was trying to take a swipe at my hand as I reached for the door. It seems the older Blackie gets, the less he likes going to the vet. DH Robert has tomorrow off, so he can take him in. The good thing is that this vet is only about 4 minutes from our house.

I wish I had words of wisdom here. What I've finally reconciled myself to doing was to move Gabby's AMPS earlier and rearrange my schedule so I can be here to get at least a +3 or +4. I then bail from work to be home by her PMPS. I can usually tell by her +2 where the cycle is going. If I see a drop by +2, depending on how much and how fast she's dropping, I will give HC. Take a look at the comments section of Gabby's SS and you'll get a sense of what I do. (I'm also trying to prevent her from earning a decrease so I really try to keep her out of the lower ranges.) Usually, the drama is over by +4, but that's Gabby and I don't know if Blackie's cycle is the same. I will leave out MC or HC if need be. There are also times when I've cancelled/moved appointments so I can stick around at home or get back here if there's some reason to think her numbers are tanking.

As far as feeling confident -- not so much! I'm usually praying that all is OK if she's in the greens and I have to leave.

and wow on Blackie and the vet. omg - he had had enough huh. poor guy! I hope that tomorrow is better.

I hear ya and the food and thing and the tbp. I hated that part - i never could get anything after a +1, and used to pray all day long that things were OK. It's unnerving - and I wish you luck. The auto feeder helped us - well, I am assuming that he was the one that ate what was int it... :roll:

Weird, yes but still nice numbers!! I hope you get a good report from the vet on Blackie and that everything is ok. Are you posting about Blackie in the yahoo CRF group, too, or is it a coincidence that a woman there with a cat named Blackie has a lump in the same place??? Glad to hear it is getting smaller. Pls keep us posted.

Marjorie, yes that's us. I am wondering what that lump is all about. It seems my vet isn't sure either.
