10/10 Zeus AMPS 390

Yesterday's Condo

From the 173 PMPS, Zeus spiked up to 346 at +5, and then an AMPS of 390.

Zeus is walking funny this morning, not on his hocks, but kind of scrunched up and leaning a little. He has an itchy ear, so he takes a couple of steps and stops to scratch.... A couple more steps and stops to scratch. I am going to go get a flashlight to see if there is anything there. I didn't see anything, but I rubbed his ear a bit and his little leg was going trying to scratch at the same time. Very cute. Will have to keep an eye on it, maybe pick up some ear cleaner.

Other than that, all is normal here. I wish Zeus would come down in numbers. Today is the 8th cycle since the fur shot. I hate to keep increasing his dosage.... We are at 2.5 units now... It just doesn't seem to help, we get a few lower numbers but then mostly the same high numbers. Is he going to be my high dosage kitty, or is there something else going on? Wish I could figure this out.

I notice on your ss that Zeus seems to bounce from the blues (so he would definitely bounce from a green).
This requires some out of the box thinking, I know how we get locked in to one train of thought, but think hard if there is a way
to rearrange your shot time so you are able to always get a +2 before going to work.
I know it might mean giving up some sleep ( and who has enough of that ) but then you would know if Zeus is likely to drop that day
and try to steer it with what food you leave out while you are gone.
Just my two cents....

Thanks so much for the suggestion, I do really appreciate all the "two cents" that I can get. I don't think it would be too difficult to make that change... If I move testing by 30 min, I think that would work. I do have a question though, and I don't mean to sound stupid, but what will a +2 tell me with regard to food? Won't the number be inflated due to the food that I feed pre-shot? I'm sorry, I need to be hit over the head with details sometimes. :lol:

Ok, so I looked at the SS again... I might understand what you're suggesting. There have been days that I have gotten +2, and sometimes it is higher than PS, but there have been other times that it has been 100 points lower. See hit over the head, :lol:

Hi guys .. sorry to see zeus so high this morning .. and sorry to hear his ears are bothering him .. mocha had the same thing going on awhile back, it was a bacteria infection in her ears .. we thought it was ear mites! Had to go to the vet for meds .. I know how it feels to keep increasing the dose, but 2.5 is not a high dose amount yet .. you might have to go a bit higher and that's ok .. just hang in there! That +2 can give you a heads up on a possible active cycle where dropping might continue for at least a few hours.
So you would be able to slow it down by leaving a slightly higher carb food down as you had to leave. ( medium carb)
And if it were a drastic drop, maybe call in late for work.


When Shadow had /has food spikes, I know she clears them by 2 hrs and 10 minutes or so so I used to only test her after that time frame
to get a true number, not a food influenced number.
You have to figure out how long Zeus takes.
I experimented with +2.5 test, then 2.25 test, until I figured out that she didn't quite clear until somewhere after the +2 but she was
always a few minutes late.
Now she rarely even has a food spike. ( all good)
 
I just wanted to add that for us - getting a +10 or +11 consistently has made a big difference as well, in helping predict how the cycle is going to play out.

I hope Zeus feels better very soon :razz: Your description of him walking and scratching just made me want to scoop him up and cuddle him!! cat_pet_icon
