Having a good Sunday here! Trouble has been in and out all day long enjoying long naps on the couch and adventures in his garden. I'm not sure what his numbers have been all about lately. My guess is that the word "drop" is different each time. Sometimes I think it means putting an empty syringe in Trouble. I am trying to be consistent, but until I squeeze it out I really don't know exactly how much insulin he is getting. Not sure if I'm doing what's best for his body though!

One strategy is to fill a used syringe (use water) and measure the way you have been. Expel the drop on a piece of wax paper. Do this a couple of times so you can see if you are getting the same amount consistently.

I felt the same way when Muffin was on a drop. Just felt like I never really knew for sure what was in there unless I could see it coming out (which of course counts out the times we're actually injecting kittty)

Many many years ago Korbel was OTJ
Occasionally she would get a food spike and would need a little bit of help getting numbers down to where her pancreas could handle it.
What I used to do was fill a syringe to about 5units or so, then push it all out. When I injected her, I'd super depress the plunger-so that basically she was getting whatever was left in the needle after I emptied the syringe.

Other than that-Nice numbers!

Thank you so much for the advice. I have tried the drops on wax paper and think I may have a better handle on what my "drop" looks like.

Carrie you are doing a great job with Trouble. His SS is impressive with all those greens  I also feel it's complicated to measure such tiny doses. If I'm challenged with 0.1 I can't imagine 1 drop :!: You would think someone would make a syringe that takes teeny doses into consideration with all the diabetic animals. Keep doing what you're doing 'cause it sure is working.
