Tome woke us up this morning, wanting food. Good thing.
He ate half a can of Fancy Feast, with a few treats on top, but left the dry alone. Maybe the novelty is wearing off?

He is unbelievably thirsty though. I think he's having problems scooping up water with his tongue. He's getting his subqs later.

Shooting 0.50

Weezer looks just like Tom! Gotta love black cats.

Tom ate really well, got his subqs. Sleeping in laundry pile.

Fantastic to hear his appetite is strong and for the healthier food too!
For the thirst, you can help by mixing water into his ff and it will help; I can't remember the last time I gave mine food without water in it.

I think the daily fluids will also be a big help for him.... how much fluids are you giving each day and in a sitting? I hope the slower flow is easier on him.

First to get a happy Tom and then if the numbers improve, bonus.
His meds and appetite are important right now and the rest will follow.

Because of his CRF we've been adding water to the wet food for about a year, making it soupy. Now though because of the mass on his tongue he's having a bit of difficulty scooping up so it's easier for him to bit off chunks of wet.

I've compensated a bit by giving him subqs everyday. We only starting about a week ago and still getting used to it. Dr Mitelman said about 100 (cc or ml?) each time. We have not been able to give that much yet, estimating about 70.
The smaller needles were much easier on him. He barely flinched. Thanks again for that Gayle.

DH and DD are watching a movie right now, with Tom purring loudly. Tom looks good actually. Guess he's feeling better.

I'm making pumpkin pie :-D

Nice, flat start for Tom this morning... hopefully a precursor to things heading downward!! Pumpkin pie sounds good.... You've got me thinking I may need to make some pumpkin bars today... would make the house smell great!!

Have you considered an etube for assistance? If you opt for surgery, it will help after this also. You can get fluids, food, medicine etc in and bypass the mouth. Sending you hugs today.

We are considering lots of things but rulling any surgery out for the mass. I don't want to put him through that. He appears to be doing better right now but still too early to tell if there is any change in the mass.
A week ago we were told we were looking at weeks, maybe days left. One day at a time.

he's a beautiful boy!

Tom won't eat now. Not even turkey hot out of the oven. Unusual.
Maybe he ate too much today. Still shot 0.50.

So glad to hear the 22ga are better for Tom; be sure you get more of them with your fluid kits.
Were you told to give 100ml per day or per sitting? If you wanted, you could split the daily total and give 50ml am and pm; it will be easier for Tom to have it spread out thru the day.

Maybe Tom is just feeling wonky with the high BG and the adjusting to insulin again.
Hopefully he's stuffed from overeating his Thanksgiving foods.
