Yesterday

Morning to you all on this day 10/10/10. Shadow ate his breffis nicely in between his purring. He is so good when I give him his shot...but he turned to see Raja all balled up on the testing towel. he turned and liked her ear a little as if to say "It'll be okay Sis". He is one sweet cat! (except he stood up too high in the LB and totally watered my wall. Sigh. Such a silly boy) So, 3 Ps in place so far for him this morning. They are preparing for Achilles' OTJ party soon....what a wonderful celebration for him and his Beans as well as for all of us here in LL. We love to see OTJ kitties! :mrgreen:

It looks like Shadow surfed the blues all night. What a good boy!! Gabby has been known to aim a bit high and "water" the floor, as well. A mother's work is never done!

Nice Shadow - off you go now, some greens on the horizon! Love the watered wall - I always get a watered floor... Isn't it great when they tend to their siblings? so cute, so nice.

Ha! I just noticed the date...Since the 2000's began it has been a big deal for couples here to get married on those dates (8.8.08, 9.9.09...) so I wasn't suprised that today I saw 2 wedding parties at the church down the street :-D

Nice night for Shadow surfing the blues, hope he gets some green today. Raja is doing well too (won't be long...... nailbite_smile )

*Just had to tell you this.....Some time after Spooky got switched to wet food I bought new chair covers, he still attacks the chairs regularly (sometimes when he's board, sometimes when he's angry at me, mostly early in the morning when I'm not getting the food down quick enough :roll: ) yesterday evening he found a knife in the sink which had Nutella on it (my daughter made some bread with Nutella on it) he was totally into it, there was Nut nougart creme all over the sink and the front of him! I screamed at him and took it away and cleaned up the mess. He went totally postal on the chairs ohmygod_smile This morning Hannah got out the nutella again and Spooky came running, when he didn't get any he again shredded one chair completely. This afternoon I removed the covers and tossed themm in the trash :evil: I put the old ones back on (they don't look so hot either) I'm NOT buying new diningroom chairs (nobody sits there anyway :sad: )

Glad to see that Shadow is doing so great. Oh, and I've had my fair share of cleaning up pee too. :smile: I second the "a mother's work is never done" Sienne.

Shadow is starting out nicely for today. I hope he continues to shine. Aww he is really a sweetie, licking his sister's ear to comfort her.
And his watering the wall, hahaha! Boys!
That reminds me of a little needlepoint wall hanging I saw in someone's bathroom: "We aim to please, would you please aim!"

Oh Monique, the dining room chair covers.... I'm sorry, but I'm just cracking up. Your dining chair stories are classic, hahahaha! Nutella revenge! :twisted: :lol:

Yes, little Shadow must have NOT been paying attention that day when his Mommy showed them the litter box techniques. His mastery of the entire procedure is lacking. He usually scratches the walls of the bathroom with great concentration...the noise coming from the room is really impressive, but he never once covers anything. He continues scratching the sides of the box, then the walls again, over and over...making so much noise and doing nothing constructive.
Today, his ears were back and he was really concentrating, rising higher and higher until he was almost standing upright....but he has NO idea what is going on. None at all. :lol:

ETA: the 4th P is now accounted for. He did the usual, but when he was finished with the pretend covering, he let out a nice little roar to let me know he had something to present! :lol:

Such LB intensity! Shadow! you rock - just aim a little better OK? I have a civvie that does this - never buries a darn thing, although she works so hard at it.

Hmmm. About Shadow's techniques in the bathroom. Strange boy. I had heard that the reason kitties cover their poo/pee is so that in the wild their predators won't know they are nearby. Cats cover their 'tracks' so to speak.

Perhaps Shadow feels so relaxed and safe that he has no need to cover his poo from his family. To me it seems about right with sweet Shadow's personality, doesn't it? The 'covering' action on the walls... he's putting his scent there to let you know he's been there? Totally opposite of covering his scent, how funny.

My civvie does that against the windows in our kitchen... they go to the floor so it's easy for her to reach. She goes to town really fast and looks hysterically funny as if she is trying to wash my windows or is frantically waving at someone outside. :lol:

Oh that IS cute CD!! With Shadow, I think he learned that the noise goes with the LB but he never put it together about what the noise was supposed to be accomplishing. LOL
they both spent some time on my bed with me this afternoon. They are so cute!

I love this condo, Pat. I'm always amazed to find that my cat(s) not unique. Checkers is a wall pee-er. I have gone to great lengths to thwart this. The LB's are large/tall storage containers, with the fronts cut down, because Checks likes to back up into a corner to pee. He pushes the litter backwards into the corner, then backs up to it. I used to hang plastic sheets from the wall, into the LB, so the 'water' would run back into box. They are in an alcove that was once a closet. That was before I discovered the huge storage boxes.
Sammi, his sister, used to do what Shadow does. Didn't cover anything, just 'wiped' down all the sides of the box, with her paws....over and over..bam bam bam :lol:
I wish we all had kitty cams and could watch each others' cats. Wouldn't that be fun? I'd never get off the computer. :-D

This was very entertaining! But still gots ta say, (not to stray too far OT!) Shadow's numbers are really great - I would probably give an arm leg or two, if we could only get to numbers like those!

Great blue surf for Shadow today.

Tess is the complete opposite of Shadow. After the first time I invaded her privacy for a ketone test her butt has been firmly planted right on the litter. And she takes a great deal of time burying. We use the Breeze box too and the noise she makes with those hard pellets. ohmygod_smile
