Well, so much for Mr.Cat's reduction! I put him back to .5U today. I know from past experience if he gets up past 140, the next stop is 180.
I am going out of town tomorrow and I don't want to come back two days later to find Mr.Cat in the 200's! He'll probably be stressed with the cat sitter so it's best to be on the safe side. He doesn't go below the 60's on .5U so I'm fairly confident he won't have a hypo episode while I am away.

Question.... my Lantus has been open in the refrigerator for three months. Could it be going bad or getting weaker?

Re: 10/10 MrCat AMPS 150!!!

When the insulin goes south, the numbers start going all over the place - not just up. If the insulin isn't cloudy and doesn't have a lot of air bubbles you're probably ok. Some people have used the same insulin for up to 6 months.

Thanks for the info! My Lantus is not cloudy and doesn't have bubbles so I think it's OK. Glad to know what to look for when it does go south! ;-)
