I hope everyone had a great day yesterday. Ours was the best! Me and William and Nicholas had the best of times We got the break in the weather we needed, it was predicted to be sunny with blues skies, perfect fall weather, so we had to take advantage of that. Off we went! The Skykomish River was waiting for us once again. Here's what I wrote about yesterday in last night's post: "Hi Everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. Nicholas and William and I spent ours on the Skykomish River, HWY 2 area near Index and Gold bar. We were very lucky with the weather! It was a little foggy in some parts to start, but by 9/10 AM we had sunny blue skies, and topped out at 55. Wow: a perfect fall day. We have some clouds now, maybe the makings for a awesome sunset to boot. I doubt it was 55 where we were, most likely in the 40's, but the sun and the blue skies took care of any chill. The boys and I were thrilled to it to the Skykomish today. It was Nicholas's pick. He so wanted to see the salmon in the river again, so that was stop #1. He really loved that. Loves the "broken road that the river broke" (sight of a river washout from a few years back), loved the fish at his feet. As he would say: a major good time. I think it was maybe 41 there, but sunny, river was really cold. so... eventually that wading, rock throwing and fish watching got the best of him, and we were off to the car for lunch #1 of 2, and to warm him and WIlliam up, before heading off to stop #2 @ the Skykomish @ the big eddy near Gold Bar. His pick on that one too. It can be very sandy on some spots, so makes for really good play spot for the boys. What fun!! A train went over the bridge too while we were there. I think we saw 4 trains the while time we were out today - huge big deal for nicholas. What was even more eventful for him was that we found some dead Chinook along the river bank. "oh NO! Grammie! LOOK! The fish are dead. That can't be good. oh nooooooooo...." :-D    That was funny. We must have stayed there an hour and a half, had lunch #2, packed up all, and headed off to meet his dad and mom for William's 4 month old DR appt. William is fun - he really is very much like Nicholas at that age: just watched everything, soaks it all in, smiles alot, sleeps through some, seems so at home with it all. Really kinda nice: I have two river rats on my hands. All in all, a very nice day for the boys. Picassa link: A Day in the Skykomish River...

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!   very normal, very quiet... Lola is camped out on my lap as I type this condo. I think it is one of my favorite times with her. She seems so small, so sweet, so innocent - just purrs and purrs and purrs... until I pet or poke a spot that is a no no, then she bites and gnaws on my finger.   THAT is so Lola! There is a large part of me that really hopes she stays the mischievous cutie that she is. It is never a dull moment around here with her. Bug has started sleeping in the bed at night. He curls up on my feet, and I find that rather nice. Elsa has my pillow, Bug has my feet. Lola as yet to sleep in the bed. She has a favorite rocker upstairs that she likes, and that is usually where I find her in the wee hours of the morning when I get up. Life is good.

Have a great day everyone. It is another Nicholas and William day today. I hope to take the boys up to a river, again, as Nicholas asked for one yesterday. He has such fun there that it is no surprise he asks to go back the next day. We may try for the river at Jack's Pass - it is a bit more remote than whet we did yesterday. I will see how weather and temp patterns develop and then pick a spot. Who knows - Nicholas may have already decided where we are going! ;-) The weather yesterday was said to be good for today, cool but with sun, so I hope we can make the trip. :-D I will try and get to condos when I can.

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!! cat_pet_icon

Good Morning, Michelle,
What a great report on yesterday's adventure! Nicholas had a ball, and William took it all in. How long does the salmon run last? That must really be something to see! (We saw fresh moose tracks yesterday on one of the beaches on Lake Lila; pic in Rusty's yesterday's condo.)
Your kitties are getting into "winter mode". Neat that Bug has taken to keeping your feet warm. Neat that Lola lets you have some quiet moments with her in your lap.

Have another great day today. Enjoy your good weather while it lasts!

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. to Elsa: you saved the day yesterday--GREAT ~O) . Can you deliver more for today's little hike?

Morning Ella ~O) ~O) ~O) THX, yesterday was great for all. The salmon runs should continue for a few more weeks. We get them locally starting in Nov thru December. Sure is something to see. Nicholas loves to have them swimming at his feet. oh yes on the winter mode for the kitties. it is cool in the house now, so snuggle they do. :-D THX on today -w e are out and about again, I just need to figure out where! Hope you have a good hike today. :-D
Auntie Ella - you got it! I'll bring some for your friends too! ~~ Elsa, Lil BIT, kitteh barista

That's cute. Last night I was on the sofa and my feet were cold (of course if I put on socks that might have helped). Instead since Buster was laying near them, I put my feet under her body and within minutes they were nice toasty warm. Buster didn't mind that I did it either. If that were Maui, she would have walked away. She hate feet touching her and doesn't allow me to do that. Hands are fine, not feet.

Hey Lil Bit Pit,

I'm feeling much better this week. I think my bean got me sick and oooh it was bad. I was captured, tortured and my belly fur was shaved! I was even starved and lost 2 pounds! It was so bad, but I wasn't going to let them know. I stayed real quiet in the hopes they wouldn't notice me. Then my bean rescued me and took me home. I smelled really bad and had to wash the bad smells away all by myself. It was a lot of work. My bean didn't even help! No lavender or yummy vanilla smellies nothing.

I'm so glad that I missed wacky wednesday! For triple thursday, I'd like lots and lots of tuna water. I'm suddenly so thirsty and yummy tuna water is the perfect drink to have.

Now that I'm feeling better, we can go and have some fun! Well, maybe after I take a nap.

Signed Maui the Magnificent

It sounds like the river trip was a hit yesterday. I hope you have a good trip today. That's nice that Bug has started sleeping at your feet.

Hi everyone! I hope your day was a good one. Ours was great - a road trip with the boys. We went back to the Skykomish River today, to an area known as Jacks Pass. I LOVE this area - it is semi-remote, with the best darn river views ever, mixed with mountain stuff, and some nicely forested areas. Very very primo! Our decision to head on up/over to Jack's Pass, and the River was a great one. I figured, why not. Soon enough the way to get there now will be snow covered, and we might as well get there while we can. The drive up was great. Nihcolas managed to see a total of 6 trains coming and going, that always makes his day. The level of excitement rises substantially when that happens.  Weather report was good, too bad that all that sun never really did make an appearance. We got a few rays every now and then. No matter though, it still was great up there. A tad it windy, which made it darn cold, but the boys had fun anyways. We explored the usual haunts, then headed in to the town of Skykomish to check it our and see if we could see any more trains. Skykomish is a small quaint town, an old RR town, just west of Stevens Pass. In all the times I have gone there I have never seen a train travel through town. Today we did. LOL: a bonanza day for trains. It was a fun stop for the boys. Even William was awake for that one. He did well today today - awake for most of jack's pass. I suspect that the cold winds helped with that. ;-) All in all a very nice day on the river in a very nice place. Autumn colors were outstanding, as was the river. I will post the Picassa links in tomorrow's condo.

Hi Hillary - LOL! I have done what with my feet too! Nothing works better than a kitty. :-D Too funny that Maui won't tolerate that. Mine don't seem to mind. well - I take that back. no way would Lola put up with it either.
MAUI! GF! WHAT???????????????????????????????????? They shaved your belly? YOU IS NEKKID???? oh... yeah... Mannie went through that too. He was nekkid too. i is sorry.... I didn'ts know, or I would have come with Mannie's lavender soap stuff. He always smelled so good. pssttttt.... don;t tell anybody he liked the lavendar OK? OK! I will bring TONS of tuna water! you gots it! heeheehee - see you after your nap! ~~ Elsa Lil BIT PIT

Hi Carla - Oh yes on yesterday - it was alot of fun. Today was good too! THX on Bug - I love it, and am so glad he's starting to do that. It's great!

Glad you had a great day with the boys! And, as always, I love hearing about the 3 Mouseketeers! How sweet that you have a foot warmer and a head warmer. Now to get little Lola to become a bed snuggler!!! Sleep well, Michelle!

Boy howdy, you and the musketeers will need a resting holiday after double boy duty! I'm tired just reading about all the adventure. ;-)

Hi Deborah - THX!, it was a good one. me too on the foot warmer and a head warmer. At least those parts are warm at night. it would be great if Lola would come too. :-D

Morning Anne - YES (!!) on that resting holiday. ;-) I will admit it is TIRING! ever so fun, but tiring. Thanks goodness it is Furday. This grannie needs a day of.
