Good morning,

I woke up about an hour early this morning, and Bubby was right there for purrs and cuddles.... When I say cuddles, I mean he has to be either right in my face, cold wet nose touching me, or have his head under my chin with his cold wet nose on my neck. I keep telling him that I love the cuddles but I could do without the cold wet nose :lol:

Hi Lyresa,

Well... Bubby was Calvin when I adopted him, and I knew that I would be changing his name, but I didn't have a name picked out. I asked friends and family, and even the ladies at the vet's office, who thought I should call him Sylvester. It just didn't come naturally when I talked to him. Some said Tux (Tuxedo), Socks/Mittens, all the usual black and white cat names but they just didn't fit his personality. I Really wanted something that explained that he was a love bug. One night as I was talking to him, I called him Bub, and then I remembered a Seinfeld episode where Jerry was talking about Bubby as a term of affection for a grandparent. It kind of stuck after that. I do still call him Bub or Bubster sometimes Bubba, but he really is an affectionate cuddly boy. :-D

With that said, Missy, my other cat absolutely loves him... And the typical male that he is, tries to just get away from her much of the time. She makes flirty eyes at him, she will instigate play time, and he walks away in the other direction. Funny. :lol:

How nice on all the snuggles. I know what you mean about the cold, we noses though. That's cute how he got his name.

Bubby sounds like such a sweet kitty ~ Missy, too.
I think the name Bubby suits him well. :-D

I love the story of Bubby's name, and what a sweetheart! My civvie, Zen, is much the same way. When he snuggles me at night, he HAS to be right in my face...anything less is unacceptable :lol: ! It's sweet, but his whiskers tickle every time he turns his head, and he loves to reach out and touch my face....with his claws :shock: (unintentional, of course). It makes for sleepless nights...but if there ever was a good reason for losing sleep, kitty snuggles is it!
