Good morning!
Blaze’s AMPS is 440
Blaze’s AMPS is 440

Ya I’m wondering too since he’s so high this morning. I’ve been dragging all week at work from our late night a few days ago so I haven’t been staying up late to testSorry about the big bounce. I wonder how low he went last night.
I will be gone for a few hours on Saturday so will have to do a curve on Sunday but I’m not very optimistic about it because he usually doesn’t get low numbers during the day time so I don’t think it will tell m me very much. He chose lower at night.Come back from the moon Blaze!
Weekend is coming! Looking forward to curve day to see just what Blaze is up to these days![]()
I don't think it is as hard on them to be in high numbers from bouncing as it is to stay high all of the time.I worry about what it’s doing to Blaze’s body to be so high so often.

Okay that makes me feel better!I don't think it is as hard on them to be in high numbers from bouncing as it is to stay high all of the time.![]()
Agreed!!Time for splash down Blaze. Nothing exciting on the moon.
I have an auto feeder for this very reason! He gets snacks during the day when I’m at work and snacksYes, I think little Mr. Sneaky might have visited the sharkies late last night. And that why he's bounced so high this morning. He appears from his past performances to prefer those moonlight swims. Oh, how I hate those moonlight swims personally...and I know I feel exhausted the next day...and am looking forward to a good night's sleep the next night...but Blaze is uncooperative as far as you getting a solid night of sleep...sooo...you may want to consider an auto feeder for when you just can't stay up any longer - get a 1, 2 even 3 plus and if he's heading down, down, down...set up the feeder with MC or even a little HC mixed in there to dispense the food every couple of hours - gotta keep that kid away from those sharp-toofed critters down below![]()
http://catinfo.org/chart/index.phpI’m having a hard time finding a MC food though, about 8-10% carbs is MC right? I have been mixing LC and HC to make a MC but I need to find someone that is MC. Any suggestions?
Oh I have some 13-15% carb FF gravy lovers! I thought that was considered HC! I was thinking I needed to find something was 8-10% carb for it to be considered MC.http://catinfo.org/chart/index.php
I like to get the Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers - most are around 13-15% - that is considered medium carb. Luci loves the gravy in these foods and often will slurp up the gravy and leave the meaty bits behind. According to how carb sensitive Blaze is can determine how much you give him. Luci gets about a teaspoon when she's surfing the low greens...it keeps her from visiting those sharkies...but then I'm testing hourly when she's out there surfing close to the edge - once you have a chance to get a curve or two you'll find out what it'll take to keep him safe and away from the sharkies too. It just takes a bit of time and practice..
I'm going to look and see if I can find that carb list - I know it's around here somewhere - perhaps someone else will stop by your condo and chime in?

What I have found is that Blaze is not carb sensitive so far, so if he is dropping quickLyla, MC doesn’t do a whole lot for him.
I have some FF gravy lovers that is 20%, I usually use for my “big guns” when I need it. The other 14-16% carb FF I have, I just thought they were on the lower end of HC. So 14-16% is considered MC then? Then you might want to pick up some 21% carb. Fancy Feast has one with Cheddar - that's the highest carb one that I have on hand...some of the FF w/Cheddar is 21 and some is 22%. Luci is pretty sensitive so I rarely feel the need to open those HC's. I keep them on hand, though, just in case.
You can check out some other brands on the food chart from my last post to you - there are a zillion high carbo foods out there...like I mentioned earlier, though every cat will respond differently to foods. It sounds like you've already had some experiences with Blaze and his response to food...that's terrific! So going forward you'll know based on his numbers early in the cycle which direction he's headed...and set up your feeder accordingly. I know folks that work - or even myself - if I have to be gone all day (like recently I had surgery)...I tested Luci and then set up the feeder to give her a little LC with an MC topper in every slot - so she was covered for up to 8 hours - every two hours she got food...and it kept her safe. But first you have to know how sensitive he is to which foods and then proceed accordinglyHope you can get some rest soon... I know just how you feel

That’s like Mowgli too! I see a lot of similarities between Blaze and Mowgli’s reactions to insulin. Common +2 onset and an early nadir, additionally... the night time divesI will be gone for a few hours on Saturday so will have to do a curve on Sunday but I’m not very optimistic about it because he usually doesn’t get low numbers during the day time so I don’t think it will tell m me very much. I’m thinking he will need to go back up to 1U, but after I get the Sunday curve and not until he’s been on this 0.75u dose!
