I'm trying to understand the bounce between +4 and +6 of this cycle. Bell has had similar bounces recently - AM of 9/29 and AM of 10/6. Is this still the same bounce working through her system as yesterday? Or did yesterday's bounce eat up all the depot so she doesn't have enough juice to stay low at the end of her cycle? Just curious if their should be something I'm doing to prevent this... I totally understand the bounce on 10/9, but I just find it confusing as to why she spikes back up after it looked like she was clearing the bounce this morning. Hopefully that question makes sense.

Or feel free to tell me to just not worry about it and be patient :D:D:D. I'm tryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyying :) but I'm not great at it yet :)

Someone found her way on the top of the fridge this morning

Bounces can last up to six cycles, and the numbers can wobble around during that time.

10/6 AM I wouldn't call a new bounce. Some cats, just before they break a bounce will wind up and go higher, before they drop. We call it the high before the low. If you look at PM 10/6, she was coming down fast and broke the bounce that night. It's possible you could have slowed the drop a bit with some food after +5, but hard to say for sure. I personally found Neko's bounces that were a reaction to fast drops were worse than the bounces caused by lower numbers. Is she going to do the same thing tonight? Stay tuned.

Some bounces also take a while to really get going. Neko's worse bounce numbers were the start of the third cycle following the event that caused the low. That was a bit unusual, but I have seen many cases where the bounce seems to be a bit delayed in the launch. That could have been 9/29.

Thank you so much, Wendy, just what I was looking for.

Bell eats a small amount every 2 to 3 hours due to her BVS. Anytime longer than that and she is throwing up bile. I realize feeding post-nadir is not ideal and I’m working on front loading more food pre-nadir, but she still needs something in her stomach. I still don’t feed anything 2 hours pre-shot. But maybe some of that food in the +6 to +10 range isn’t helping the spikes close to shot time.

The good news is that she hasn’t thrown up in around a month (knock on wood), which used to happen multiple times a week. I chalk that up to the good advice here on probiotics and the switch from kibble to wet food. Hopefully the BVS continues to improve.
