@Bandit's Mom - definitely possible. We were home a little over an hour before PS when we picked up his bowl. It was nearly empty but he could have just finished it.

Just open up a fresh two-pack of strips and got three errors in a row from the first bottle… tried some from the second and errors again! Have some back-up emergency single wrapped ones but will have to buy the pricey drug store ones while I await for the a new order on Monday… ordering two of the two-packs this time! <rant over>

He was napping and we missed giving him his usual 3/3:30ish snack… woke up around 4:15 and was stalking us for food so tested a bit early. Could he somehow be high because of not eating? Is that just wishful thinking?

No it is not wishful thinking. In fact, for cats on low doses with functioning pancreas, food can bring down the numbers. The pancreas produce insulin in response to food. We like to suggest a snack at +9 for cats on low doses who see blue preshots.

Sorry, just seeing this. I think you can try a reduction to 0.10U. Get him to eat a snack at +9. Maybe don't free feed in the second half of the cycle, so he will be inclined (hungry) to eat at +9?
