Ugh :cry: I thought with her nice green pmps last night that things were finally starting to settle down. :YMSIGH: This could be fish stick talking, but I tend to think it's not. She couldn't have gotten more than 2 small bites of it, and I just don't think she's all that carb sensitive. But it's definitely a possibility, and one I hope for. ;-) I'm considering going back to the .1u if I can find a day when I'll be here to monitor :lol: For now I'll stick with a drop. I'll be here to test +2, but then I have to take DBIL's drooler to the vet to get the rest of her stitches out. She had CCL surgery 3 weeks ago, and got most of her stitches out last week, but there was one area not healed enough so they left 2 stitches in. Muffin is feeling pretty good this morning. She's been purry and lovey, but a little hesitant to eat much breffis. She was wanting to go out for grass earlier, so I think I'll take her out now.

I'm sorry for giggling, but just picturing Muffin with fish stick across her mouth, like a trophy. I know it was bites, but I like my mental image better. :lol:

Hope drooler's healed enough to take out remaining stiches today.

Hi Anne, I hope Muffin will settle down and have a "normal" cycle today. Good luck with the "1 drop".

Have a fine day, and I hope that DBIL's drooler will be healed enough to have the stitches taken out.

Tara - Yep, she was just perched over it on the kitchen floor, eyes looking up at me, holding perfectly still, hoping "Maybe she won't see it..." She was so disappointed when I took it away. :lol: And she sure did come down soon! Thanks!

Ella - Yeah, Muffin always goes for the gold - breaded fish sticks, breaded chicken strips, pizza, spaghetti, etc etc. Looks like she's already back on track. And I hope so too, poor drooler. She's had more than enough of that cone-head look! :lol:

Ann - She sure did enjoy it, and was really disappointed when I took it away from her. Looks like Muffin's working this dose, too!

+5 79. Denamarin given. Talked briefly with vet when I was there with the drooler. He said he talked to IDEXX about the fasted vs non-fasted specfPL. He said fasted is recommended, but not required. However, he wants to do it fasted on Monday. I made an appt for 4pm, which would give Muffin a 6 hr fast, but am now thinking I could skip insulin that morning and take her in at 9am, which would allow for a 12 hr fast. Opinions? Which would you do?

Hi Anne - No advice about fasting from me, just saying 'hi'.. and I really enjoyed the fish stick story... laughing out loud reading all the comments! Glad it all worked out!!

Anne, I am laughing at the fish sticks. Maggie is really upset that Muffin gets fish sticks and she can't even get a potato chip, for crying out loud! :-x

Look at J.D.'s ss on 04/16. That was a late afternoon Spec fPL test. I think I barely got 5 hours of fasting.
On 03/20 he had a morning appointment and it was a lot easier.

Pmps 141 :YMSIGH: I'm thinking about putting that 1/2 drop back on and making it a .1u again. Maybe that will flatten her out? Bring these ps numbers down?

Drooler got her last two stitches out, but still needs to wear her cone for 5 more days.

Thanks Dyana - I just wonder how much difference it makes between a 6 hr and a 12 hr fast.

Hi again,

I have read that the fast should be at least 6 hours. I don't think you would want to do 12 hours because of the diabetes. Try to get the morning appointment!

I want to add my 2 cents to the LOL crowd about the fish sticks! I laughed, imagining a grab and attempted getaway, then that "oh rats" look getting busted with the goods :-D
