Morning ~O) ~O) Lots of it today from Mannie, extra strong brew, no cream or sugar! I wonder if I should add a drop, as Mags has been on this dose some time. We're back up up to a mid yellow. I don't now if It's from eating too close to the +10 or Maggie having a blah day. She has some days when she seems like she's making it thru the day but a little lethargic. Her appy is good, and I woke up to find her in bed with me which was a treat. :-D I think she was trying to get me up too early and unsuccessfully, so she decided to just wait patiently. We are having a heat wave, and it's predicted to hit 98 degrees in my area, :shock: so I plan on getting out and about early. One of the stops is Petco to buy some new fuds for Maggie. I see the NV chicken and other flavors are on the list. I once fed the chicken and am thinking of trying it again. Any of you here still use it? I know there was the one ingredient in it that was a puzzle. Have a nice Monday.

Mornin' Sis. Sorry I was a little under the weather and couldn't come visiting. That was nice of you to curl up with mamabean this morning. I'm still annoyed with mine so I'll sleep under the bed to punish her for another night or so. I hope you feel a little more frisky today, enjoy fuds and have some sun to enjoy - yer bro, Leo

Coming down slowly; I should have waited til the +5 with this AMPS, but wasn't sure as Mags has been very hungry!

Aww....Leo, my bro, sorry you had to go for that car ride. Maybe it will be easier next time now that you know you will be back home in your own bed, and it's just a visit. Thanks for the good wishes on me feeling better. I'll be sunbathing later. Hugs, Mags

You're heading in the right direction, Maggie!!!

I remember Trix did really well, numbers-wise, on NV chicken, but she got sick of it really quickly. I'm going to study the fuds lists today and pick up some new stuff to try tomorrow.

Ann, 98 degrees is HOT!! Your a/c must be working overtime. Our rain and chill is persisting. I'd send you some if I could!
As I recall, the mysterious ingredient in NV is some type of clay that is supposed to be nutritious. Check their website for the ingredient list. I wondered whether this clay would have an adverse effect on the intestinal tract. I don't recall what conclusion was reached (if any).

I am feeding the NV Duck to Rosy. Found a bit of orange colour "stuff", canbe carrot or pumpkin. Rosy is not picky with her food, she eats everything on her plate (as well as others!)

98???? Way too warm for me. I hope you are able to get out early, before it gets too warm.

I remember that - the clay in the NV - remember the discussion, but can't remember the conclusion.

Mannie, thanks you for the Espresso, my favorite, just two shots of Espresso is all I need today! Yes, 98 degrees is very unusual for us this time of year. Yes, it's iffy on the NV with all the problems Mags has now with the colon and constipation.

Devon, thanks for visiting us. So far no Green Lagoon for Maggie. I guess she's giving me permission to fuds shop for her! I'll get out early and beat the heat.

We have friends in visiting from So Cal and they were happy to leave the heat for awhile too! They said it has been muggy too, which is odd for Calif.

Hope Maggie comes down a bit for you soon. We all have those blah flat days.

Ann, is NV referring to the raw food? I looked at the website just now, but don't have time to read thru it. I saw cans on the home page. I really need to get to Dr Lisa's new chart and find something else to try on Checkers.

Those are nice low blue for Mags. Definitely giving you the permission slip. :-D

It's cold here, around 45F. It's hard to wrap my head around your 90's, at this time of year. Whew!

Hi Barb, it's the Nature's Variety. It had an ingredient that was unfamiliar, and when we looked it up, it was a clay substance. It was the reason some Beans were hesitant to use it. It's too bad as it's both low in Phosphorus and carbs. I'm hesitant to use because of Maggie's Megacolon. When I called NV about it, they said it was a nutritional ingredient.

Hi Donna, yes our whole summer has been hot and humid, very unusual for us! When I first moved here in the 80's, the summers were more dry, and lots of apartments didn't even have a/c as the heat was not that bad,

Morning Ann. Maybe the pm cycle will be better - hear that Maggie? Can you at least try some blue? You're really really close already! I sure wish this heat would go away - I'm ready for cooler weather! So nice to wake up to Mags in the bed. Muffin actually slept with me all night long, which is really rare. I think she missed me yesterday :lol:

Ann, NV makes both raw and canned. The canned is Chicken is over 1.5% phos. i think you were looking at the raw section of the list! That is great for both carbs and phos.

I tried the Avoderm chicken for Tess and she loves it! :-D :-D :-D

Ann, I have missed your condo lately and saw that you mentioned Maggie having an U/S recently. Is she ok and what were the results?

I recently bought NV to try it again with Simon. He ate it one day and that was it -- he was so over it and never wanted to eat it for another meal. Silly kitties!

Hi and thanks for all the visits. I got out the door by 9:00 am and got home before 11:30 am and beat some of the heat. I made it to CVS, Petco and picked up a Subway sandwich to go and had an iced coffee on the run! :-D

Anne & Muffin, I am also ready for cooler weather. It's dry today which feels better than the humidity. I'm about to check Mags but gave her a poke break with the yellows.

Ann & Tess, so the canned chicken NV is a little too high in phosphorus for Mags. Yes, I think I was looking at the raw. I have a can of Avoderm chicken, but with the 9 carbs, I'm afraid it might spike Mags. Did it cause a spike in Tess. I found some Friskies Special Diet T&G, also some Merrick Chicken. I learned Petco doesn't carry Evo which was an ok one carb wise and phosphorus, too. I spend around $12.00 for different flavors and only several of each.

Anne & Zener and Detective Poo, There's something in the lb, but no aroma. Just checked and it's a big pee clump, maybe later! :? Thanks for checking on Maggie.

Hi Roni & Moonie, I've had a time trying to get on Yahoo. I lost my p/w or typed it in wrong. They keep saying they are sending me a new p/w to my alternate E-mail, but it never shows up. I'll keep trying. Maggie's feeling a little better as she got some fluids.

Hi Georgia, shee did have a u/s just to rule anything out that may have been causing her renal values to rise. There's still some question with the kidney infection. But mainly her renal values have increased since her last b/w two months ago, and the IM Vet prescribed fluids every other day and also a renal prescription diet (which isn't good for her as it skyrockets her bg's). I did try one just to see for myself. He insisted she would be fine, so I just took the free cans.

I checked this twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke and got the same number! I normally would never test at 2.5, but Maggie asked for some food and then jumped up on her testing spot! She's never had a drop like this in the past!!

Carla, I think she listened to you.

Wohoo on the +2.5 :mrgreen: That's quite the drop for the Magster! Surf safely sweet girl:)

Sending you lots of luck in finding something that meets the criteria of what Maggie can eat. I hope it gets the stamp of Maggie approval too!

Wow!!! That is like the drops Rusty has been having. It could be the change of season (or, in your case, the unseasonable heat).

What did you feed Maggie for dinner??

Well, Mags just came up on her own to 80, and now she just had some lc. One note though! I did give her fluids, and that may have influenced her numbers, although it didn't other times,

Hi Ella, this was a complete surprise, as Mags never Nadir's until +5 or so! I fed Maggie Friskies Special Diet Turkey & Giblets, and it was a hit. I just now gave her a little more, mixed in with a little Wellness Turkey.

Hi Amy, let's see if she will surf it all night. I was talking earlier about increasing by a drop and glad I didn't.

Hi Tamara, thanks so much as it's a challenge finding something both low carb and low phosphorus and that is tasty. The Friskies Special Diet meets both although it is 5 carbs, but not bad!

It looks like Maggie will surf okay. She's eating the Special Diet Friskies T&G okay. I have the Merrick BG Chicken, but it's a real soft texture and not much broth.

Leo, I hope you get up on the Board soon; that's low enough, Mags

Hi Deborah & Shasta :lol: :lol: Maggie the silly kitty wanted to fit in with the green kits she was telling me!

Detective Poo, nothing in the lb so far. Lately she's been having a poo every second day, not sure why she changed her routine! :? Maybe overnight a prezzie!
 
Hey Maggie, it's OK to get stay on that surfboard now, your mamabean has taken away the dosecrease threat. Great numbers for Maggie tonight, it's so nice to see her in green again!

Good luck on the food hunt. I can sympathize because I used to have a picky cat in the past.
