I know this is your busy day Krystina - Nellie's numbers look good - she's relaxing at the beach:cool:...a ways from the lagoon...but maybe that's ok for today...certainly not what crazy cat Luci is doing today...chasing sharks and generally surfing - although she's been a bit wobbly on her board because she's so terribly out of practice....gets a reduction tonight...hope she doesn't go chasing sharks again!:facepalm:

I am a bit concerned and confused personally- her numbers look high to me today... in the upper blues and a +10 @ 259 :nailbiting:o_O?
Is this an after effect… hangover from the high carb food of the day before last? Still affecting numbers today?
I guess I don’t know how long it takes to smooth out a high carb food blast :-|?

Hard to say...but it takes time for that pancreas to heal up and make those beta cells needed for full scale support without insulin...so you're going to have to roll with her ups and downs...she needs more time to determine what she's going to do next...

Give her some time to sort it out...she is going to have some ups and downs...at least she looks so much better than she did in the beginning! Be joyful about that :woot:

Be patient...you want the patience pants? I've worn a hole in mine...I think I'm ready for a new pair...maybe for my new Fall wardrobe? :)

I am. Do you remember not so recent in distant future the night that I was spent, Nelli whimpering as I approached with lancet... tired of getting poked over and over again- I announced no more, no more increases? Do you also remember or know that it was the next day she went down into the lagoon :-)?
 
Nelli is going into cycle 10 tonight. She had been surfing down very nicely until day before yesterday when I mistakenly gave her what I thought was 100% freeze dried type food …actually not was dry food (RAWZ)!?
Do I keep her at 5.5 units because her numbers in last 48 hours have been based upon this dry food trip I put her on or do I give her an increase tomorrow morning? Thanks in advance for your input
 
Hi Krystina, I think I would take her back up to 5.75. The carb dry food should be cleared by now and taking her back up again might be a kick in the buttock for her and bring her back into greens again . It isn't uncommon that kitties will dance around the same dose a few times so don't be discouraged.

Her dental is Monday, right? You might want to think about holding off on the increase until you see how her numbers are afterward. Some cats go up immediately following a dental, then down later, and some go down right away. Just my two cents worth.
 
The dry food clouds things, one of the reasons TR requires an all wet diet is that we can't say how long it stays in the system, I've sent cats where it seems to clear quickly and others where it takes a few days.
One other point look at the numbers today, what does that +2.5 tell you? (Tip,-compare it to the amps)
Then look at the +7, what do you think is likely happened between +2.5 and +7?


Also 5.75 got her into the 30's, but although she's had 10cycles at this dose you gave her the dry food right when we would have expected her to clear the bounce from the previous green, the carbs from the dry. So they're not a regular 10cuycles.

Given this morning's cycle I agrre with @Tricia Cinco(GA) & Harvey I would hold the dose at 5.5

I believe it was on Monday night - rough night all around - but you can't withhold an increase on one night in the lagoon...or chasing sharks...if I did that Luci would probably have died by now...look at all the times she's gone chasing sharks. That was your second episode of shark chasing and you pulled her up...

Unfortunately that's the dance...we just keep trying to do our best - give her the insulin based on what you think she needs -high numbers = more insulin; lower numbers = less...But she's not going to be able to tell you when that's going to happen...:rolleyes:

You're a good mama bean...just try to roll with whatever she's doing...watch the numbers and move the insulin up and down accordingly...I hope the testing will get a bit easier as time goes on. :bighug:

Thanks @Tricia Cinco(GA) & Harvey gosh... I live on a 12 hour by 12 hour time frame with Nellie, neglected to think forward about Monday morning. Thanks again, I so, so so so agree with you :)

THANX, @Gill & George. What I see and don’t see answering your question. I don’t see (anything) at +2 compared to the AMPS? What I think happened between the +2.5 and +7 is that I missed her Nadir... at +4 or +5?

I think mommy sending her little buddy into contraband land created her BG, the numbers it has... still today. Thank you so very much for the likeliness share. I appreciate you very, very much Gill… Nelli sure does too :bighug:
